Does anyone know what will clean up the trays yhings under the element burner on electric stoves. Mine were dirty adn I used grease lightening on them and it cleaned them up pretty good. There is still some black stuff on it though that did not come off. Does anyone know anything that will get that off? Sos pads did not work. Thanks in advance.

I've used Easy Off oven cleaner....put them outside or in the sink or something and spray...let them sit as long as possible. Or cover w/ foil or I ended up bying new burner pans and rings for about $16 total at Kmart. (Much easier than trying to clean!! LOL)

I didn't think to use easy off. Worth a shot. I bought news ones they had on clearance that should fit almost ant stove but of course it did not fit right! Thanks for the suggestion!

Mine were like that...had to have the special GE ones..but they had them at my Kmart. My burners don't "detach" (old military housing stove!) So, I had to get the different ones, but they were about the same price. $3 for the pan and $1 for the ring per burner=$16 Good luck (ps...foil will work too!)

mine is a maytag. I will try to clean them with the oven off before trying to find other ones to buy. We only have WalMart and it is 2.5 hours away for any other type of store. I won't use foil because it looks tacky to me. Thanks again Shanncopp.!
