View Full Version : how long do you wait to leave negative feedback?

I recently bought something from somebody here, and she had great feedback. However, upon reciept of the item, I hooked it up, and it does not work at all. I paid $7.00 shipped for them, and had alerted her nicely that they weren't working, so I would have my husband look at them, and if they still didn't work, I would need a refund. Turns out, there was nothing we could do, they simply don't work.
I emailed her again, with still no response to my first one, and told her to please send the money and I would ship these back upon getting the money back. This was Thursday. Now it's Saturday, and I don't want to leave negative feedback in case she is out of town or whatever. (this would make the 1st trade in about 70 I've done that has ever gone wrong for me)
The funny thing is, she lives in my state, so I don't think getting a refund will be that difficult. But still, I am worried since 7 bucks is a lot to me.
How much longer should I wait? I emailed her again last night asking her to at least let me know she is getting my emails, and as of this morning, nothing. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and hoped I would get a reply, or an apology with her promising to send back my money, but still nothing, and yes I know, even the good traders can go bad...Please help!

If it were me, I'd give it a week or so... Like you said, maybe she's out of town or working overtime or something. Hope it works out for you! :)

Thanks juliegirl78, this whole thing has made me on edge...I guess I'll give it a few more days, and if she doesn't reply, I'll have to persue it...thanks for replying :)

Also add if u email her again that you will have no choice but to leave neg feedback. That might boot her in the butt to reply.

Thanks Twinkiesmom, I had thought about doing that today. I just hope her reason for not getting back to me is something unrelated. She had almost as many positives on her feedback as I did. I guess maybe I got lucky with so many good trades that it was my time to see how easy it is to get burned. But I hope she knows that I will do everything to get my refund lol. :)

good girl. and u have every right to do that! Unless it was stated in the original post that the item didn't work. Don't give up. Stand your ground.

Some people may only have limited access to a computer...give her a few days. But I would send one last email stating that you will leave neg feedback with an option to edit it if the problem is fixed. Also, try a PM, then you can see if the pick it up, and when they were last on line thru PM tracking

You can also request a read receipt when they read their email so you will know if they looked at it or not.

Thanks again :)

I did reread her FSOT thread, and it did say would be having limited access, however, she was going to check in 3 times a week from the library. Well, I believe I emailed her Thursday about it, and as of yet, still have heard nothing. I still don't believe shes a bad trader, but the right thing to do would be check up often if you are still finishing up trades to make sure all loose ends are tied up.
I really appreciate everyone replies on this too :)
