URGENT need computer sleuth ASAP

Well somehow my sisters son or someone broke into her computer and retrieved all her outgoing emails and the emails that everyone has sent her. I need to know how they did this. She is going thru a rough time right now with abuse and a divorce. They are saying things that are not the truth unfortunaltey and I would really like to reprint things that I have emailed to her so that I have my own proof. Please I have hotmail so if anyone can help me. I have searched the web and found nothing on how to do this. THANKS

well I know aol saves out going emails and yahoo you have to save the out going emails to keep them and I did have hot mail once and I "think" you also have to save it in a sent file and if that is the case there really is no way to retreave sent emails. correct me if I am wrong anyone?

You mean you also want to break into her computer so you can reprint? Her computer would have to, at the very least, be hooked to the internet and then there are programs that the savvy computer user can use to break in (I'm not a hacker and it's illegal anyways and there's no reason to give them anything to use against anyways)... but hotmail usually saves a draft of all emails sent (atleast mine always did, maybe I had it set to auto save in options?), check that folder and print them off if they are there.

NOOOOO I am not trying to get into her computer I want to know how I can retrieve emails that I have sent to her. They are trying to say that I said this and I said that but I myself have no proof only what I know I said. The are making up unfortunate lies in this. (in a nutshell saying I brainwashed my won sister into leaving her hubby when all I have done is listen and offer moral support) I wish there were some way I could get back what I have sent to her email There has to be a way because this is what her kids did. She has hotmail also and her kids broke into her computer and read all her outgoing and incoming emails PLEASE SOMEONE HELP I AM DISPERATE HERE

Lilpetie, when you say you are wanting to get into your outgoing e-mails, do you mean the e-mails you have already sent???

If this is the case you need to go to your sent item folder and if you have saved the e-mails then they will be in there.

If you use hotmail by going to www.hotmail.com to send, receive & check your e-mails, then you have to check a box to save the e-mail before you hit send, unless you have it set to save all outgoing e-mails.

If you have your hotmail set up through your Outlook Express program then it should automatically save a copy to the sent folder.

But, Hotmail dumps your sent folder ever so often. I'm not sure right off hand, but I think it's after the letter is 3 months old ??? but I'm not sure about that I would have to go check to see exactly how long it leaves a copy in there.

Also another way you "might" find a copy....and I stress the word might, because I don't know if it works with hotmail or not. But in outlook express the e-mails you have deleted and think are totally gone can be found in your windows folders, it takes allot of time to find them and they will be mixed in with codes but you can retrieve them that way. And I wouldn't suggest doing this unless you are use to prowling around in your windows folders, because if your not careful you can screw things up.


I seen you asked for help from that guy. He has that huge computer help thread and you might need to post on it to be sure he see's your post.
