ok, here is my dilemma: the recipe i am using calls for semi sweet chocolate chunks-i dont have any(didnt realize i was out until i had the dough half-way made:rolleyes: ) but, i do have several mini hershey bars that i can chop up and substitute. will this be ok? or no? or do i just need to go ahead and bake them and see?lol

Sure. Should be fine. They will just be a touch sweeter.

thank you cpbaby-my hubby bought me this huge cookie cookbook for valentines day and it is one of those books that say no substitutions and the butter should be real unsalted butter at room temperature, blah blah blah...so i was just making sure!lol

Well, my mother and grandmother would have a FIELD day with that book. If you cant substitute or add, then nothing new would ever be invented.

I always make my cookies with milk chocolate instead if semi sweet chips....try it you might find you like it better like I did.
