I sympathize with your situation. Please Get tested for everything
I had the same problem and my ortho doctor said the same thing and put me on Viox. Then it kept getting worse, couldn't take a step with out huffing an puffing for 10 min. I finally felt so bad I went to the ER and they tested me for everything including congestive heart failure . Come to find out I had no blood (Hemoglobin 2.1) I had a bleeding ulcer and it sucked it all up over a period of time. Had to get 7 pints of blood . I'm Lucky I'm alive, not trying to scare you but please check out all posibilities. and my payers are with you

Wallflower,
I have the same problem. I have had every test there is and there is no medical reason for my swelling. Ive been on water pills for months and still.....
Best of luck.

It sounds like you have developed Lymphedema. This is usually associated with women who have had some kind of breast surgery and the lymph glands have either been removed or dont work properly.

Somehow in your fall, you might have caused damage to the lymph glands in you ankles which is now causing the swelling in your feet and legs. Please do not be scared, yours might be temporary. I have had this condition since I was a little girl and it is manageable. The only thing is that there is no known cure for this.

Here are a couple of websites for you to look at to find out more about this

dirkswife & wall,

Lymphedema will not show up on any type of blood work. Unless your dr is familiar with it, they will not be able to diagnose it.
