I hate rumors.

I try to stay at home and mind my own business. I will be dang if the crazy neighbors dont have anything better to do then start and spread rumors about me. My neighbor ask my friend last night if my husband and me were fighting about a week ago. She tells him no and asked why. He then tells her that he heard that my husband came home while they were in florida and caught me with another man. One of the fathers of a child I babysit for. WTH? I have kids all day and night, when would I have time. Also if I was going to do something like this(which I never would) why would I do it at home? HELLO. I then tell someone else this and she tells me, Oh the neighbors son(her ex-boyfriend) told her that along time ago. That is why we have problems because I sleep around on my husband all the time. :eek:

some people need to get a life, but instead enjoy wrecking other peoples lifes. dont let it bother u and just keep enjoying you're own life. i know, its easier said than done, but don't let you're neighbor get the enjoyment of letting it upset u.

I know how you feel. I live in a town that the pop. is 84 people. And when I had the only store here in our tiny town I was forever getting talked about. I got to where when someone said, guess what I heard about you! I would hold up my hand and say " I'm flattered that ya'll can't find anything better to talk about than my business, but I really don't want to hear what you got to say because I'm sure it's just a lie that will hurt my feelings and I can do without the mind game today thank you." All your friend accomplished by telling you was to get you upset....one thing I've learned, no matter how much you stomp up and down and swear the other person is lieing, once the rumor get's started people are going to say & believe what they want to. Best not to ever even hear it.

lol I am not that upset. I just started laughing when she told me. DH is another story. He is upset and now wants to know what trouble we are having.

I know what you mean, rumors ruined my reputation as a young girl and it was all lies but how do you disprove a rumor the more you deny it the more people believe it. My cousin who btw is a preacher today saw me taking penicillin I told him what it was, I had strep, he went to school and told everyone I was on birth control pills and was pregnant and the idiots believed it though it made no sense, for the next 2 years people stared at my belly and talked about me, my best friends Mom told her son not to be alone with me I might try and say he was the father. To this day some people here will turn their heads and not speak to me because they think I was a slut, and at the time I was about as innocent as innocent can be. So I know how angry you must be but what makes it worse is not being able to totally dispprove it because people always want to believe the worst of everyone. A preacher once gave a sermon about the most evil body part mankind had and how many lives had been ruined by it, everyone was squirming in their seats with embarrassment thinking about what it was, it was of course the tongue and how it spread gossip and rumors and ruined lives.
