View Full Version : It's finally happening...I've waited so long...

Julie posted about her house closing and that the house was hers.

Hubby and I are close to our new house being finished...

We had our first walk-thru last Friday. We took three hours and were really picky. Almost everything is just cosmetic and it's minor.

Yesterday, most of our window treatments were installed. (The shutters in the master bath won't be in until June...)

We have our final walk-thru this coming Monday (May 19th). The loan will be funded that day and the title recorded on Tuesday. We will get our keys Tuesday night!

For those following this saga, we have been looking for a new house since July of last year.

Once we found this builder things have moved extremely quickly and smoothly. In fact...we are getting into our house earlier than was originally scheduled.

Our floor plan is actually the reverse of the one listed. Everything is flipped...

Never in a million years did hubby and I think that we would ever have a brand new custom home.

Congrats...I have worked with Greystone Homes...they are a good builder! Congrats on your new home. When things are meant to be...they just seem to fall into place. I hope that it was worth your wait!

That's nice to know. Greystone threw in some things which weren't part of the original contract. Plus...they normally include things which are considered options with other builders.

The only thing we could upgrade was flooring because everything else is already upgraded.

This has absolutely been worth the wait. We had waited for this other "dream house" for 6 months...we probably still would be waiting. One day while visiting the model of the "dream house", a person happened to mention these new homes which had just opened their models that day. We went immediately to see the models...fell in love with all of them. The following week, the builder had the lottery for the first phase and we got a house!

I really think we were made to wait so that we would still be looking when these homes became available.

I'm not sure if this week is flying by or dragging by...


Raven...the wait will be worth it!
