Hubby has to work today.... better yet he chose to work today..
He woke the baby up when he got up at 7:30am and didnt watch him, so the baby woke me up.
He chose to work today, because we are going camping next week and he wants to stay a few extra days... (he will be in training the first 3 days, and wants to stay for 3 days after that). So why he is in school I am to take care of the baby and the dog.. with no car I'll be stuck at the camp site all day.
I am to spend my mothers day washing clothes, doing dishes, and getting stuff ready for the trip.
He didnt even say anything this morning... just bye!
Our son is 2, this is my third mothers day. I have only got one card (last yr.)... and he didnt even sign it (it was a buy 3 get 1 free deal) I found it when I was making the cards out for our mothers and had one extra left over.
Another thing... my B-day is the 24th... he has never got me anything. Because my B-day is always near memorial day.. we go camping... he says thats my gift! I always tell him my idea of a vaction is a week at a hotel where I can be waited on... not scrubing dishes in a bathroom sink, swatting bugs every five seconds.
TIA for reading... now I am going to fold clothes and pull out the tent.

You are going to have to retrain him so that he understands that Mother's Day and birthdays are important. Turn around is fair play. See what happens when you ignore Father's Day and his birthday.
And a camping trip is not a present. Geesh, he needs a swift kick and he needs to know that love needs top be shown. Appreciation is a part of love. And events need to be celebrated or life looses it's sweetness and memories.

But just remember what this day is all about. It's not about your husband. It's about you and your mothering of your child.
Take that moment today and hug your son and think of all the good things that go along with being a mother; how special he makes you feel, those small, precious moments just between you and he. That's what Mother's Day is about. Why are you worried about your husband?
There is a quote from the play "Our Town": "It goes so fast. We don't have time to look at one another- oh, I didn't realize! So all that was going on- and we never noticed."
You and your son have a HAPPY MOTHER-SON day!!

Happy Mother's Day
I'm sorry about your Mother's Day. Do what I do MAKE YOUR OWN CELEBRATION.............AGGIE WON'T DO IT EITHER. His momma (bio) passed away when he was 3. His stepmother is the WOMAN FROM HELL SO, THAT'S ABSOLUTELY OUT. Instead he will go along w/what I've planned if I do all the planning. Not to crazy about it but, he'll cooperate.
Like you my birthday is the 25th of May. Sometimes it does fall on Memorial Day. That really sux too. Not to many children were home when I was younger. Usually got out of school by my birthday if not on that day.
Kinda weird: I get my salute, 21 gun (on television), honored.
After that it's MY DAY. I would put my foot down about the camping thing. I really would.
My idea of camping: Holiday Inn, Motel 6, Ramada, room service, a/c, heat, t.v., hot/cold water, bed.
I would absolutely not go for camping on my birthday. In our case I'd send him alone. He's done that before as well. Makes me no difference. I'M NOT GOING.
I hope you do something for yourself. Watch a good movie, take a bubble bath, read a good article, book, cook something special for yourself, do something w/your son. After all he's one of the reasons you're supposed to celebrate today. I'd ignore everything in the house and DO YOUR OWN THING. You DESERVE IT. IT'S YOUR DAY.
Happy Mother's Day.
I'll be thinking about you on the 24th. Happy Birthday, too.

I am so sorry!! I am having the same problem today. Mine is home just sitting on his but for most of the day. If it wasn't for the fact my Hubby told my parents, two uncles and nephew plus brother and his two friends to come for dinner I wouldn't have even cooked.
Since yours chose to work I would choose to order out dinner. BUT only enough for my son and I to eat. I even just had to clean up the dinner mess.
