I'm on the Policy Council for Head Start here in my county. We just got the following email this morning. Nobody else was hurt, but this is just horrible.

"All:

Please keep Shasta Head Start and staff Nicole B**** in your thoughts
today...

This message sent today from Shasta Head Start:

Today, during the close of our 3 year program Federal review, we
received notice that a drunk driver plowed through the doors of one of
our Head Start preschool centers and killed Nicole B****, one of our
staff members.

She is a single parent of two preschool children and was an Early Head
Start home visitor. The children at the center are all safe and the rest of the staff did an exemplary job of seeing to the safety of evryone on site. It is with such sadness and humility that I tell you all of our loss. Please let the rest of our Head Start family know and I will keep you informed as to the plans for Nicole's children. I hope they nail this drunken scumbag's cojones to the wall!!
