Pinecone booted me out

WTF??? It should not matter where you work, they should not send you any pharmeucetical surveys, if they know that you are employed with a company such as that...............

In the email I got from Karen Scott it gave a whole list of jobs that made you ineligible. I was so bummed I deleted it, otherwise I would post it so you can avoid saying you work in any of those areas.

Yeah, I wasn't notified either, the only way I found out was I tried to log in to change my email address and I couldn't.

I'm sorry you got booted. I would like to sign up with them but I haven't had the luck of finding any pop ups or links to join. I've heard that their links are posted randomly on the net. Does anyone know if this is true?

Wow, must be a fad for them. I got the boot today, too. I'm a student - computer science major. Never thought I'd get the boot for that, I actually get more surveys from other companies because of it. Like, since I'm a student, my opinions concerning food and household products isn't valid? :confused: Oh, well, and I really liked Pinecone! :(

With me, They had asked me what I did in a survey, I remember the email said something about it being an annual survey, and even though you wouldn't be paid for it, you could earn prizes for it. Thought it was strange since I've been a member of Pinecone since it started, and I'm doing the same thing I did last year, and I didn't get the boot then. Evidentally it's something new they're starting.

Same thing happened to me. I emailed them since I hadnt revceived any surveys in a long time. Computer error.. :eek: etc.. I finally found the link again and resigned up but still nothing. I sent them another email recently and was told just because you sign up doesnt mean you will be accepted. That they must have enough people in the catagory I would have fit into :(. How do you know if you are accepted or not?

I got booted because, unbeknownst to me, my DH found a link and signed up. He didn't know I was a member, and we both got our accounts cancelled.

Yes it is true. They will post a banner type pop up on large sites you have to be pretty alert when you see them because alot of people will usually automatically close pop ups out because they are annoying. And just because you saw it there that time doesn't mean you will see it again.
If they have enough people to fulfill what they want right now, they won't even have the banner anywhere.
My best advise is just to keep looking and watch very carefully when you click on a new site.

I too had not heard from them in what seemed like forever after their annual update survey....then all of a sudden this week I got 2 surveys in one day.

So don't give up hope......When something comes up that you are qualified for they will send it to you.

As I stated earlier here is the reply I got from Pine Cone:

"We appreciate the interest you've shown in PinCone Research. As a standard to protect the confidnetiality of our client's new products, we routinely eliminate any person who has an email address associated with a consumer packaged goods manufacturer. This would include any companies who manufacture food, beverages, pharmaceutical products, household cleaning products, health and beauty aid products,. So unfortunately, we are unable to use your household in our panel. Thanks again for your interest in PinCone research."

I sent an email back to her telling her I am retired and don't work for anyone and that I am very disappointed in the way her company is operated. Doew this sound like a business email address: [email protected]. ??????

Is that the e-mail addy that sent you the letter that you were booted?? I thought everything came from Karen Scott?? Sounds kinda fishy.

I just replied to the email they sent with Karen Scott at the bottom. Missbeepin - you are correct. Sounds like a bunch of crap. My opinion of PineCone has dropped a lot.

Just like Nanami30, I got one of those surveys to update your information. Guess I'll just have to do more mystery shopping / mail decoying to make up for that 5 bucks here and there. Hauser has really picked up lately, geting People all the time, a Teen People (oh joy, who the hell are these children), Fortune. Haven't gotten a check yet, but it's only really picked up the past month, so I should see something soon.
