why the heck do people have to post here putting each other down, saying they are not logical? do you get a kick out of putting words down that are spiteful? rude? mean? wrong? if you are an adult here have respect NOT all of us are below you many many many of us here are educated, professionals, and people in authority. not plain old country folk raised in a 1800's. I really try enjoying the posts and members here but give me a break- read the forum rules, read what can be considered offensive.

Someone give me a clue because I am lost! I haven't been here long, but I haven't seen many threads go bad. I think overall BBS has a good record for having so many members. I visit many boards each day and this is one of the two where I don't see constant bickering.

BBS & MCs are the two message boards/forums with the best mannered members, IMO. DoD is so-so, manners-wise. And as Emelle said, f.w. is a very rude board. But all sites have some bad apples, sad to say:(

I have posted about a couple of controversial subjects in the past but I don't do it to start an argument. There are a couple of members that I've noticed who will post something that they know is going to start a war but the funny thing is they never reply to it themselves. They post it and then that's it. LOL If I do disagree I try to do it without disrespecting the person. I also try not to use mr roll eyes. That in itself can be very offensive. It's like using the word whatever. It makes some people feel that their thoughts and opinions don't matter.

I like mr rollseyes also. It's excellent for using to make fun of oneself; also to express that an unpleasant thing/fact exists & we all know that. If I'm being truly sarcastic I also add the angry smilie. I try to take care that my posts won't be misunderstood; I'm sure that I don't succeed all the time:rolleyes:

EMELLE you are not lying about FW. I mean they are so rude it's ridiculous. I don't even post I just decided to look at the deals and move on. I know people around here get in little disagreements, but I wish people would not try to belittle someone's intellect. I find that to be mean spirited.

I have nothing wrong about others venting/whining...just don't seek medical advice...this is not a hospital or in some cases an emergency room???

Are you referring to the spider bite thread? I see no problem with someone coming here to ask their friends for advice on something like that. Allot of people get spider bites and never go to the doctor. She might not have gone either if we hadn't of encouraged her.
Also not all Americans have good insurance, some don't have any. So before they make a mad trip that might cost them a small fortune they come here and ask advice from us in hopes maybe some of us might have been through it before ourselves.
I agree with KylaKym. I don't see anything wrong with asking for medical help as long as it's not an emergency -- someone choking, serious burns, etc. I think asking for the opinion and experience of others is fine. I don't think anyone would substitute a poster's advice with that of a doctor. Sometimes people ask questions so they'll know what to expect when visiting a doctor.

Sorry, I don't agree with either of you, but then we're all welcome to our opinions aren't we? A spider bite can be deadly. And what if it was a bee sting and she went into anaphylactic shock? She wouldn't be here online to ask medical advice, would she? I would think that anyone should know something is terribly wrong when they see red streaks tracking up their veins and they'd immediately seek medical attention. And this would apply to "any" bite (spider, human, etc.). A bite is a bite and all can be dangerous and potentially fatal. I still wish her a complete recovery. But thanks to both of you for "biting" me for trying to be helpful.

Well if you want to blow this way out of proportion, you could go as far as to say someone with a headache could die of a aneurism while typing here about how their head was hurting when they could be running to the E.R. for a cat scan. But most of us are more realistic than that and try to figure out a solution before coming to the conclusion. I think most people here are not stupid enough to come chat on the boards if they feel it is a life or death situation. And bringing this back down to earth to the original reason for our discussion you said they shouldn't come to vent/whine when they are in need of medical attention. I will say it once again. 1,000's of people get spider bites and never seek medical attention. And only a very few end up with a bite that should have been treated. I don't find her stupid in the least for not heading straight to the E.R. As a matter of fact someone in the same thread said she gets bitting all the time at her wood pile. But she seems to never have suffered much from it.

WTH are you talking about? Where did either of us "bite" you? You said yourself we're allowed to disagree, but when WE disagree with you, now we're "biting"? That makes no sense to me.
I do agree with you in that medical attention should be sought if something looks or feels the least bit wrong.

Did I ever refer to you?? I'm sorry if you got that impression, but I'm glad that you at least agree with me about seeking medical attention.
"I have promises to keep....and miles to go before I sleep, miles to go before I sleep".
"either of you" and "both of you" -- that's where I got the impression you were referring to me as well as Kyla Kym since that denotes you're speaking to more than one person. If you weren't referring to me or to Kyla, then who?
ah, forget it. It looks like I'm being a *****y troublemaker and that's not my intent. :o But hey we agree on one point, right? ;) :p
