May I vent for a second please?

Ok...its the BIG 40 right??? well apparently NOT!! For twenty years now, married to same man....same inlaws....for 2o YEARS I have made sure that ALL OF THEM...hubbie, daughter, son, motherinlaw, fatherinlaw always have a birthday party and all it entails...is it too unfair to ask that at least ONE time someone do something for ME???? Here it (sorry dont mean to sound ungrateful) what did i get for this BIG??? 40 (and all the other years) is $20.00 and a plastic doll (just because its a clown..and I am NOT laughing!!)....and oh yeah two cards....sorry...i am just still not myself..(sigh)

I understand where you are coming from.....when I turned 18, my mother forgot about it....Of all people in the world, you would have thought SHE would have remembered it....didn't get nothing for it either, even though it was one of the biggest milestones in a person's life....I'm sorry

If it makes you feel any better, my birthday was last Monday and the only person who said happy bday to me was my hubby... my own grandmother didn't even call (she's 82 tho and losing her memory so I'll forgive her this once... hehe)

Happy Belated Birthday!!! I know how you feel. My hubby has no clue when it comes to my B-day. 2 years ago he got me a gc to get my nails done. I have NEVER gotten my nails done, nor would I ever pay anyone to do them (just not me) that was his daughters suggestion. Last year he got me .... NOTHING... cause he didnt know what to get:rolleyes:

This year I just took the prssure off him and we bought concert tickets for our birthdays. Some men have no clue and I have to accept the fact that I married one of them.

I turned 35 this year and what did hubby get me? A Hershey's candy bar. Thankfully the rest of my family made me feel special. I'm really not a material person, but at least they tried (and did a great job I might add). Happy belated birthday {{{heartlvrs}}}

Hey, atleast no one sent you one of those horrid dispicable "Lordy, Lordy, look who's 40!" cards! ;) I just turned 30, so I got the "Dirty 30" thing, but I've already laid out death threats to anyone who sends me one of those when I turn 40! Go take $150 out of the bank and make an appointment at a spa for whatever treatment you want. I promise you that it will be the greatest birthday present you will have ever gotten. Let someone else do for you while you sip wine and relax. Nothing compares to it and nothing is as self indulgent.
