Got woke up at 5:15 am today!

Bet you thought this was gonna be a gripe huh? Well its not!! :) The phone rang at 5:15am and when I awnsered it there was nothing but silence! Then out of that silence came the sweetest word Ive heard in the past couple of months!!!! It was "Mom"! It was my oldest son calling me from Baghdad!!!!! This is the first that we have heard from him since he crossed from Kuwait into Iraq! Its been a terrible month as he was with the 3rd Brigade and was the first ones in there. There were several deaths from that Brigade. The only thing that kept me going was the old saying " no news is good news!" We didnt get to talk for too long but long enough to say our I love yous and for me to tell him his little brother is also in Baghdad! He said "How did that happen?" I wasnt able to tell him his little brothers unit or anything like that but I bet he stops and looks at every MP he sees now looking for him! My youngest son knew his older brother was there but the oldest thought his brother was still in Korea. We didnt want him to worry about him we just wanted him to stay safe and get his job done so they both can come home! What a nice call that was this morning even though it was sooooooo short after all this time :)

That is the most awesome news I have heard all day, I am so glad for you. My cousin-in-law leaves this Saturday for Kuwait & even though he won't be in Iraq, I will prsy for his safe return, alomg with every other military personel in our great nation's armed forces.
