Anyone here belong to Curves for Women? I joined a week ago and I absolutely love it. I feel so good, body is toning up and I have lost 4 lbs. I always hated the flab that hung under my arm when I wore sleeveless and its already better too!

Mine had a special. 59.00 sign up and 29.00 a month based on a year. I took the 3 month program for 39.00 a month. Its so cool...great music, nice women and easy machines etc etc. Do it baby_froggy, you will love it!

LMAO @ tsquared!

Is it like aerobics or something?

I'd love to join, but I would feel like an @ss doing aerobics in front of others.

No its not at all. It is a series of 12 (usually) machines set in a big circle. You go on each machine for just 30 seconds!! Most are for your arms and legs etc and are as easy as you want them to be because they are all resistance. In between each machine is a bouncy square platform you can do whatever you want to on in between for 30 seconds (dance, jog, nothing..lol etc). I thought it sounded dumb until my sister took me.
The music is awesome and it always tells you when to move "stations" etc. They also have a diet class that I have not joined yet but it is not extra money to be a part of it also.

They will measure you and work with you as much as you want and NEVER make you feel embarrased.

OH..That's good. I would feel REALLY embarrassed exercising in front of people.

I probably look like a turkey on an acid trip or something.

My girlfriend's daughter belongs to Curves and loves it. I just found out they are opening in my town..maybe I should look into it. I hate to exercise...baby_froggy I wish you were closer to me..we could go together...I think youre way on the south side of the city right?

i have a couple of friends who joined and are not happy at all. I think it may be just this one particular location that's bad tho. I don't go because I've found something better for me.

I think everyone should go to Curves. I love it. In my first month I lost 6 lbs and 5.5 inches. Not bad! I miss it on weekends...(closed)

We only have one in our city and it's clear across town. I would love to join but I can't afford $40 a month. I contacted them once about managing a location near where I live if they would put one here. I know the perfect location and it's near a large residential area. But I never heard from them.

mrsspeed, thats why i dont join. i cant afford their fee. and if you look at the aerial photo of my house, the big thing right above me is a church that has an exercise group. it's $10 a month, and I love it.

I've been a member since last July and I albsolutely love it! I've been slacking lately though...just getting over bronchitis. You control how hard your workout is. I tend to add hand weights on the "recovery stations" to make it a little more challenging. i can definitely see a difference in my body since i started. I was 158 when i got married back on aug 2001 and now i'm 134!! *happy dance* Of course, i'm also watching my carb intake, which also helps me a lot. I'm now between a size 6 and an 8. Hubby loves the change! :D
