What do you feed a CRAWFISH??? Any southerners out there??

Yes, I'm serious!! My hubby is a meatcutter and he brought home a crawfish as a "temporary pet" for my son. Hubby thought he'd be dead by morning...that was three days ago!! I feel guilty thinking he is probably hungry. Any ideas?? I figure if he's not dead by now, I need to feed him.

I want to FEED him not EAT him!! LOL!!:D

My kids catch them all the time at one of our favorite lakes, we feed them worms- they never live very long though.

I've seen them used as bait before but know zilch about having one as a pet. :)

eww... I've never ate one and I dont think I ever will. same goes with lobster and all that seafood stuff. bleahhh

As far as feeding them, I have no idea.. maybe crickets or get some hermit crabs eat.. sorry I couldnt be of more help.

I've eaten quite a few, but never fed one, LOL! Hope you find something he likes! :)

We have them in the creek in the back yard and when my son use to bring them in and throw them in my fish tank they would eat fish food like the pellets and such. But I can remember fishing for them to use as a bait when I was a girl and they would grab the hooks with just fish bait on them. :)

u feed a crawfish to a LARGE catfish & eat the catfish. Or drum, or bass, or anyother fish U like to eat. Put it on a trot line baby ;)

we used to go "crawdad" fishing with cane poles, just by tieing pieces of meat to a string

crawdad, yes that's the term I normally use. Same difference tho.
