WE HAVE A SEMI-FERAL CAT THAT HAS BEEN LIVING ON
OUR PORCH FOR 2 1/2 YEARS. FOR THE LAST FIVE HOURS
SHE KEEPS FALLING DOWN AND THEN JUST SITS THERE
KIND OF DAZED FOR A MINUTE LIKE SHE WONDERS WHAT THE
HECK JUST HAPPENED. IT SEEMS THAT HER HIND LEGS ARE
VERY WEAK AND SHE DOES NOT HAVE GOOD BALANCE.
ALSO SHE JUST PEED ON ME WHILE I WAS HOLDING HER.
OTHER THAN THAT AND THE FALLING SHE IS ACTING LIKE
HER NORMAL HAPPY SELF.
SHE IS TOO WILD TO GO TO THE VET. THEY SAID I
COULD BRING HER IN IF SHE GETS TOO WEAK TO FIGHT.

DOES ANY OF THIS SOUND FAMILIAR? I WOULD APPRICIATE
ANY HELP, THANK YOU.

It sounds very familiar to me:(

We had a "porch" cat and she did the same thing. She must have gotten hit by a car and normally, she wouldn't have let us touch her, but we think she might have broken her neck. We ended up having to put her down, but we had to do it ourselves, which is horrible for us because we are all animal lovers.

I'm sorry this is happening. Is there a chance she got hit by a car?

I DON'T THINK SHE COULD HAVE BEEN HIT,
SHE DOESN'T LEAVE HER PORCH VERY OFTEN
AND THEN SHE DOESN'T GO VERY FAR. ALSO
SHE CAN STAND ON ALL FOUR LEGS, THE HIND
LEGS JUST COLLAPSE IF SHE IS TURNING OR
MOVING TOO FAST. I AM WONDERING ABOUT
CANCER IN HER HIP BONES? I DON'T KNOW,
I AM JUST GUESSING.

If you can look inside the cats mouth check to see if its gums are very very white. That is a sign of internal bleeding and also worms.

Sounds like maybe the poor darling had a stroke. But, I'm no vet. Sorry bout her. Poor pretty kitty.

THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!
I WAS BARELY ABLE TO CHECK THE INSIDE OF
HER MOUTH AND THE ROOF OF HER MOUTH DID SEEM
PALE. SHE DOES HAVE WORMS BUT I CANNOT FIND
A VET THAT WILL GIVE ME THE MED(DRONTAL, I
THINK) WITHOUT SEEING HER. TOMORROW MORNING
I WILL CALL AROUND AND EXPLAIN HER CONDITION
AND MAYBE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME.
AS FOR TICKS, I CANNOT FIND ONE, BUT IS THERE
SOMETHING OTC THAT I CAN USE TO KILL ONE THAT
MIGHT BE ON HER ANYWAY?
I DON'T THINK SHE HAD A STROKE. SHE WAS VERY
STRONG WHEN I CHECKED HER MOUTH. SHE ALMOST
CLAWED MY ARM OFF. THEN WHEN I SAT HER BACK
DOWN AND TRIED TO GO FOR THE DOOR SHE CHASED
ME ACROSS THE PORCH HISSING, SPITTING AND
TRYING TO RIP AT MY FEET.

She could have drank anti-freeze that has dripped out of a vehical (anti-freeze is sweet tasting to animals and very poisoness)
If your able to hold her a little bit (which sounds like you can) i would personally put her into a cat carrier and take her to the vet! They are equipped to handle cases like this, Don't let her suffer thinking she would be fine.

Drontal gets tapeworms which are caused by fleas. You should also have her wormed with Stongid-T, which gets intestinal parasites. I would try to get her to a vet ASAP!

I'd be very careful handling her just in case she has a disease. If she scratches or bites you, there could be trouble.
