Back up "Sports Illustrated" and Tyra Banks. There's a new swimsuit model on the beach.
Mack the Bulldog, mascot of Mack Trucks, graces the cover of Bulldog magazine in a chic pair of red and blue trunks. Inside, Mack models scuba gear, workout clothes (complete with weight belt) and a jazzy red pair of trunks, topped by a lifeguard's tank top and whistle.
Introduced at the Mack Trucks Inc., booth at last weekend's Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky., the swimsuit edition caught some visitors by surprise -- pleasantly -- said Mack Trucks spokesman Bill Martin.
Unlike some celebrities who define "prima dona," Mack "is very mellow, a consummate professional in the public eye," Martin said.
Bulldog magazine, first published in 1920, goes to Mack Truck dealers and owners. The swimsuit edition was the brainchild of the company's marketing department in an effort to find fun ways to showcase the Mack Truck symbol.
