I'd like to share with you some of the reasons that people give for wanting to leave work, for being late and for not coming in for work:

My Dad Had No Heat In His Car.

My Sister's Pregnant.

It's Raining and I Left My Umbrella at Work!

I Forgot to Feed My Dog.

I Left my Schoolbag with my Sister's New-born Kittens.

My Teacher Called Me in for a Special Conference.

I Have To Catch Up On My Sleep.

The Electricity in my House is going to be Turned Off.

I Left My Dog in My Dad's Car.

When the company buys more chocolate I'll come in...

I can't hear myself talk on your phone cause it has static, so I have to make my phone calls at home.

I Stayed Up Watching TV and I Can't Walk.

The Train Forgot to Stop.

I Had to Buy Cigarettes with My Token Money.

I Forgot Where the Building is Located.

It's my Mother's Birthday.

ROTF Jolie - you changed your sig - it's the new SLOGAN!!

LOL!!

btw, I stayed up late watching tv and can't walk - that's *not* a legit excuse? Because sometimes, those late night realy can cut into a productive morning, and I find it better just to stay home;))

My all time favorite one is "They say its gonna snow tonight, so I cant come in." WTF?? Its not snowing now. Now is 7 am and thers only a 20% chance. Come in and if its starts FLURRYING, THEn leave.

I'm a case manager for Welfare to Work....you wouldn't believe the excuses people try to give me for blowing off jobs or not showing up for their appointments/workshops, etc.
One gal lost two jobs in a row, because she took two weeks out of her first month of employment off because her and/or her kids were sick.
"My boyfriend/nephew/friend needed to borrow my car."
"It was too hot, and I didn't want to leave the house."
"I had to do my laundry."
"My brother in law had court, and I had to be there for moral support."
I swear, I've worked for the county for four years, and I already have enough material to write a book.
