REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of PanAm Flight 103!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the Marine barracks in Lebanon!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the military barracks in Saudi Arabia!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the American Embassies in Africa!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the USS COLE!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM attack on the Twin Towers on 9/11/2001!
REMEMBER all the AMERICAN lives that were lost in those vicious MUSLIM attacks!
Now the United States Postal Service REMEMBERS and HONORS the EID MUSLIM holiday season with a commemorative first class holiday postage stamp.
REMEMBER to adamantly and vocally BOYCOTT this stamp when purchasing your stamps at the post office. To use this stamp would be a slap in the face to all those AMERICANS who died at the hands of those whom this stamp honors.
REMEMBER to pass this along to every patriotic AMERICAN you know, whether by e-mail or otherwise.

I know I'm probably gonna get stoned to death for saying this- but I see nothing wrong with this stamp. I did some reserch on it, before I opened my mouth, and snopes.com even said the President found nothing wrong with the stamp either. I don't see why it should be boycotted because some Muslims did horrible things. What about all those other Muslims in our FREE country who do not support the teeorist actions? They have stamps that celebrate Christian holidays like Christmas- why not have one for a Muslim holiday as well?

I don't like this sort of thing at all - it smacks of prejudice. There are plenty of peaceful Muslims who are simply normal people living their lives just as Christians, Buddhists, Jews, etc., do. Does being Muslim automatically make you evil? Absolutely not. This is just the sort of thing that divides the world even more than it is already divided.
I think it is a beautiful stamp that celebrates one more aspect of America's diversity.

I actually am going to agree with you. It isn't the whole muslim population that is doing that. One of the reasons why we are going to war now is to actually help them out, and us too, but them also. There are americans who have done worse.

There are more Muslims than just the Middle Eastern Muslims. There is a huge community of black Muslims in the United States. I personally may not agree with their beliefs, but they are welcome to believe as they wish just as I am free to believe as I do. Are you lumping them in with the Muslims who have done these horrible things? What about the innocent Muslims who have done nothing?
This is just my opinion.

Heck, today I used Thanksgiving stamps to send a bill (and they are from 2001 so I had to add the little one cent ones to it).

And, this stamp honors a holiday that celebrates the end of a Muslim month of fasting, praying, and almsgiving (Much like Easter comes at the end of the season of Lent for Catholics). That has nothing to do with people who kill with hatred in their heart. I pray that people understand that difference.
hrtlvrs, I don't want you to think I'm picking on you, because I don't even think you would have written this originally - it doesn't sound like you - I normally find you to be a very helpful, caring, Christian person. This just struck me as out of character, so I don't want you to take this as a personal attack - it's the sentiments in the original post that I'm attacking.

I don't have a problem with the Muslim stamp itself, I will not support it because I am not a Muslim. When are they going to put my religious beliefs on a stamp? WHat about the Baptists? Methodists? Wiccans? etc..u get the point?

Well, if we have Christmas & Easter & Thanksgiving stamps, what's wrong with one that celebrates a Muslim Holiday. All Muslims aren't terrorists. I think we also need a Beltane stamp for May Day too. :)

Be careful! All Muslims are NOT terrorists. All Germans were NOT Nazis. Please be careful about generalizations.

Acually I don't know why Bush isn't reaching out to the muslim leaders in our country and our ally countries to try to get them to comdemn what muslims in Iraq and what muslim terrorists are doing. I think it would be a good idea to show him going into a mosque when they have their services to show the USA isn't against all muslims but the terrorists. Have a muslim advisor.
The terrorists want the world to see this as a holy war when it isn't. Muslims in our country have to worry how they will be treated here since this war has started. Some have had hate thrown at them. Maybe this stamp will help.

ASHLEE...SINCE WHEN HAS GOD HAVE TO BE ADVERTISED?
AND THE BIBLE STOOD ON IT'S OWN FOR CENTURIES.
AS FOR THE STAMP...IT IS THEIR BELIEFS, AND THEIR GOD
IS ALLAH. THAT DOESN'T MAKE THEM BAD PEOPLE.., THE
ONE'S WHO MAKE IT BAD IS THE ONE'S WHOM FIGHT IN THE
NAME OF "A HOLY WAR"...WE HAVE MUSLIM, JEWISH, CATHOLIC, BAPTIST,
PROTESTANT, WICCANS, AND EVEN ATHEISTS,(just to name a few) THAT ARE FIGHTING THIS
WAR. BUT WHOM ARE WE TO JUDGE?
THAT IS WHAT OUR COUNTRY IS ALL ABOUT!
E PLURIBUS UNUM...
LOOK AT YOUR MONEY, WHAT DO YOU THINK THAT STANDS FOR?
ROUGHLY TRANSLATED...OF MANY, BECOMES ONE!"
FREEDOM OF RELIGION, AND SPEECH SOMETIMES HURT OTHERS,
BUT THAT FREEDOM WAS ONLY MEANT TO IMPROVE OUR NATION,
NOT TO ATTACK ANOTHER'S BELIEFS.

I know we can say all the politically correct things on this but I also know after what has happened it would be hard for me to put that stamp on my letter. It's just emotional right now. I know we need to not turn to hate, especially with our neighbor muslims who are here right now and mean us no harm. The ones who hate what other muslims are doing in the name of their faith. The terrorists have done their job well in turning us against each other and being suspicious of the muslims who are here. After all, those terrorists got their training from the USA and were someone's neighbor when they were getting that training to kill them.
The times are very hard right now but we need to try not to be knee jerk about things.
I still think more muslims should be involved in the defense of this country but maybe they would face hardships from their family. They still have relatives in Iraq.

I wouldn't buy the stamp. I have no reason to, personally. However, I strongly disagree with the lumping of all Muslims into a group of hate-filled terrorists. That's like saying all Americans are money-hungry capitalists. So while I wouldn't buy the stamp because that is not my religion, I also wouldn't assume that anyone of Middle Eastern descent is out to destroy me or my country.

There are plenty of Muslims that are in our military. Not all are of Middle Eastern descent though. There is a very big black Muslim community here in the United States. It is called the Nation of Islam. Malcom X was one of their leaders in the 1960's. It is now ran by Louis Farrakhan. Muslims are not just from Iraq. They come from many different nations.

This does not make me feel better right now with the black muslim killing our soldiers in their tent with a hand gernade. I'm not sure what was all involved there so can't say much about it. Personally I have never liked Louis Farrakhan. I think he is a trouble maker with his hate talk.

I personally do not like the man either. I was just stating that not all Muslims are of Middle Eastern descent. My MIL who is black hates Farrakhan. When they did the million man march she was so mad.
As far as the black Muslim who threw the hand grenade, that man deserves to be smacked around. I am not sure what all went on with that either. But, he still deserves severe punishment.

If even more people start thinking this way then the terrorists REALLY have won. In my book that isnt good, because then we are no better then them, and I like to think of the people of the U.S.A. to be better then that.

I wasn't pointing to just one person being politically correct, I was pointing to all of us trying to be politically correct in our answers. Then I played devil's advocate to turn it around and made it more emotional with using a stamp like that after what has been done.
I know we need to do the right thing but we have to do it now when our emotions are high. Never direct hate at people, but if someone doesn't want to buy or use a stamp I don't see anything wrong with that. We all have lots of choices on which stamps to buy so don't buy it if it would bother you and buy it if it doesn't mean anything to you one way or the other. Then thank God we have our freedom in this country to do just that. Making our own choices.
