ok, my sunday school is doing this and i am in charge of it so i call my local optomitrist and tell them what i am doing and ask for a donation of eye drops and contact lense stuff. well, they are donating TWO CASES to me!!! so then i call my local petco and the mgr there is donating a case of flea pwoder!!! get on the phone guys and ask!!!!!!!!

Ask at a restaurant supply store like GFS (Gordon Food Service) and you might be able to get other condiments in packets too. It doesn't hurt to ask.

It said on CNN NOT to send unsolicited packages, or ones addressed to just 'serviceman'. Unless the package is going to a certain individual with a name on it; they are not being delivered to anyone and it is just a waste. Please wait until you have a name to send packages to!

One of local Taco Bells donated 2 cases of Hot Sauce to us! I divided it between the 3 soldiers I'm sending to & my BIL, for them to share with their units. ;)

Talanco, I didn't call, was just in there eating thought, "why not ask?" LOL! IO just told them that I was sending to some troope overseas, & asked if I had the addy, so I showed it to them. The guy went in back & got them for me. ;)

when i call, i tell them who i am and what i am doing and if they have anything that they might want to donate. so far every one has been very nice even if they can't. ( some places have policies that they can not donate)

and i do have specific names that my brother got me. he just got out of the marine corps and knows some ppl over there.

I have a friend that is leaving this week and i also have a sponser that i will be sending to. That is great that some people want to do this it really is. I will call some places tomorrow and see what i can come up with. if I get a lot of stuff i will post it here and maybe we can all share address and just send,send,send....lol

Good thought, I was thinking of contacting the company that we purchase our supplies from at work (we serve a continental breakfast) and seeing if I could get packets of pb and j along with other items that I know they sell. The guy that comes around is pretty cool and we get along great...so hopefully.
