Over the past few months, there has been an ongoing debate in this country over the right and proper course of action to take with Iraq. The citizens of this great republic have been free to express their opinions on the subject without restraint and demonstrations have been freely held all over the country.
With war looming, our ability to exercise free speech and assembly should cause us all to honor the men and women who died to preserve these precious rights. Without the past sacrifices of our men and women in uniform, life could be much different in these United States. Without these sacrifices, we could all be under the control of a cruel and evil regime; a regime that practices systematic murder of anyone who might dare speak out in opposition; a regime where the right to vote is a hollow sham and voting returns of 100 percent in favor of the sole candidate are compelled by the barrel of a gun; a regime where the criminals in charge are allowed to carry out unspeakable crimes against innocent people without fear of prosecution; a regime where the natural resources of the land are used to build palaces and monuments to dictators while the children of the land starve.
Regardless of our individual opinions as to what should be done with Iraq, the decision to go to war has been made by our freely elected President. Even thought the decision has been made, we may all continue to express our own views on the subject. However, we owe it to our men and women in uniform, and to the men and women who fought and died before them, to support our troops in every way possible. These brave men and women shall soon be sent into harm's way to protect and defend our country against future threats from a criminal regime that has proved time and time again that it is capable of the most unspeakable horrors.
I have seen news reports and interviews with the front line troops who are concerned about support from the citizens of this country. *Regardless* of our individual opinions about the war, these brave men and women need to know that we here at home support them unconditionally. So take a few minutes to get involved and find out how to support our troops. Your local military installation can probably assist you finding out ways to show our troops that we are proud of them and that they are all in our prayers.

Tie a yellow ribbon around your car antenna, mailbox, or doorknob.
Say a pray for their safe return home.
God Bless America.
