well Sometimes this week we are getting 1/2 a beefer, that is a lot of meat:eek: lol well anyway we are getting some ground beef, hamburger patties, steaks {all kinds}, roasts {again all kinds}, ribs, pretty much anything you can get from a beefer.
well my question is what to do with it all? it will all come frozen so I dont have to worry about doing that, but I am not sure how to cook it all. {the roasts and steaks mostely} I sometimes forget to take it out of the freezer ahead of time so I need something I can do with a frozen/ half frozen chunk of meat. lol
I read somewhere That I can put marinaide in with the steaks while they are frozen and when I take them out to thaw they are already marinating, has anyone done this? does it come out ok?
Also what can I do with the ribs? I dont like BBQ sauce and I dont know how to make them anyother way.
Any tips or advice is welcome.
TIA :)

Throw a roast in the crock pot with some onion soup mix and a cup of water. I doctor mine up with a little cooking wine and one or two sliced onions. Cook all day and throw in some carrots or potatoes. Or cook it all day and all night, crumble it up, serve it on sliced french bread au jus. You can use teriyaki on the ribs instead of barbeque sauce. There's a gazillion dif things you can do.

thanks jaybird Never thought about using teriyaki on the ribs. I am going to have to try that one. I have done that with the roast before, always comes out good, But I never used cooking wine on it. Something new to try
Thanks

With roasts try adding a half cup of water if still frozen, in a crock pot, less if not frozen and add some montreal seasoning or favorite seasoning that you have. Add some green chile depending on how much spice you can take. Gives it a good flavor and is different. Makes a nice tasty gravy as well.

at least you have a variety..my brother works at a food warehouse that is closing down and I have about 20 whole New York stips (each will make about 20 steaks) in the freezer...now what do I do with all that? can you belive I am already sick of grilled steaks?

Stew is also easy to make with leftover roast meat and gravy. What about Kebobs, Beef strogonoff, stir fry beef with broccoli, beerocks, shephards pie, stuffed flank steak.

I stocked up on roasts during a great sale a while back. I cooked 2 at a time in the crockpot and seperated and froze it to use for beef and noodles, fajitas, bbq beef and casseroles.
Personally, I like honey mustard sauce with ribs.

Sometimes I will take my leftover roast beef and slice it thinly and marinate it is fajita seasoning. Put some onions and bell peppers slices on to cook in a skillet then add the meat.....great fajitas in 20 minutes.
