Jolie's post reminds me — I wanted to ask if any of you have seen this movie? I was in Blockbuster about a week ago getting Gosford Park and happened to mention Gods And Generals and there were two women behind me who both said it was just terrible. I'm a huge Civil War & Revolutionary War buff (anything American History actually) . . . opinions all?

Gods & Generals has been slaughtered by most critics. I'm going to have to see it. One critic said there were scenes where the extras had on NASCAR (auto racing, I think) caps instead of Union caps. Errors like this supposedly abound in G & G. Such booboos are much easier to see on the big screen. G&G sounds SO bad it may be fun to watch. I just can't decide if it's worth the price of theater tickets:rolleyes:

I haven't seen it, but I'm glad you posted this because I was interested in it also. I have to say, usually -not always but usually- I end up liking the movies/books that other people didn't like LOL

Yes, thanks for reminding me of that. It is 4 hours long.
Blockbuster candidate, I'm thinking. Shoot. I love Civil War stuff.
Anybody here like Ken Burns' series? oooooo I love that series. I could watch it 10 times over and still find hidden treasures I hadn't noticed before. I'd kill to have that on DVD.
I would have to buy a DVD player but that is a different issue LOL.
