I just wanted to thank those who voted for me. Even though I didn't win (I lost by 1 vote), it was fun and I was honored to know that I was even nominated in the first place. One member started a thread for others to nominate those who did something nice for them (like a RAOK) and felt that person could use a nice gift. I was nominated along with several other members and it then was a tie between me and one other member. There was a "run off" with voting for just us two. I found out that I lost by 1 vote. :(

I don't know who voted for me but I just wanted to thank those who took the time out of their day and voted for me. I feel lucky to have friends like that.

Oh well, enough said. Thanks to my BBS friends!!!! :D

Hi Joanie.

First of all, when I said "I should have won by a landslide", let me explain what I meant by that.

I have done hundreds of trades on FSOT. Hundreds. I had expected to get more votes, too. I do not frequent other boards at BBS, just the FSOT. Seeing as the contest was for the traders only, it was not right for others to come from this forum, and vent/whine, and vote.

If you feel that you should have honestly won, I will send you the prize she sent me. No need to get upset over a silly little contest. The prize was small. You can't always win~!

Yes, I too feel lucky to have friends at BBS, but I also have a life outside of the internet.

I don't want to be argumentative here. But I do believe that comment was meant in a joking manner. Also, I never intended the RAOK to be a "vote for your friend" sort of thing. My intention was for people to let me know of people that had done something nice for them for no good reason. I didn't want a popularity contest. I will run my RAOKs differntly int he future to ensure they don't get to this point. I just wanted to do something for someone that had touched people for no good reason. I wanted to make that person feel nice and let them know that their good deeds are appreciated. Seems my good intentions backfired.

Well, it wasn't taken the wrong way and it wasn't just a matter of friends voting for friends here. I wasn't looking to "win". I was honored to be nominated in the first place. I wasn't venting. I was just thanking those who voted for me in the first place as I don't know who all did.

You know what Melissa? Yes you have done hundreds of trades on here and everyone says you are a wonderful trader etc etc. You always make it a point to make sure everyone knows that too. :rolleyes:

Also I don't think this RAOK was "only for traders" as you so nicely put either. Congrats on your win. Joanie....congrats to you too! Why heck!!! With all the trades she has done and you only lost by 1 vote??? ;)

Yes, I do make it a point to make sure it is known. If the other traders don't have anyone they can trust not to screw them over, then who do they have?

And if the contest was not for traders only, I do believe it would have been posted elsewhere. But thats just my thought on it.

I did offer her my prize, and have exempted myself from ANY future contests. Why is this turning into such a big deal anyways? And for the record, i didn't start it.

Ok, enough said. I really didn't mean to start this. I just wanted to thank those who voted for me. I have done many trades myself (I haven't been counting), and have many "repeat customers" as they know they will get a good trade from me.

I look forward to many more trades in the future. I won't stop trading or doing good things for others as I love dealing with everyone here.

No need for "prizes" - just the thought that someone cares to nominate me in the first place made me feel good. I wasn't trying to be a "sore loser"; if I took the comment made the wrong way, it shouldn't have been said in the first place.

You know what. This whole situation has sucked the joy out of doing an RAOK and now I'm thinking what the heck is the point? I've done many, many trades myself and I've never won any of the RAOKs other's have done, but who the heck cares? It was for traders. Or In particular, people to vote for a trader that has done something nice for them for no good reason. Someone that has sone something for someone else period for no good reason. Not because they were your friend, not because you like one nominee and not the other. But because that person you were voting for did something as a surprise for you, something you weren't expecting, or that went well above and beyond what you were expecting and it just made you feel good. I wanted the kid of person that did things like that to know they were appreciated and I wanted them to feel good. And I wanted to feel good for being the person to show that person how sweet other's theought they were. I don't feel good and I think it was all a stupid waste of my time and effort now and I think the winner feels that way as well since she's offering to send her prize to the other nominee. It was 5 measly dollars. Was it worth this crap? Definitely NOT for me. I feel like my trying to show someone some kindness is the biggest waste of my time I've ever put my effort into.
