OK explain this one to me

I just picked up my cell phone that was plugged in to charge. The face was lit up and it was only half charged. So I turn it off and try to plug it back in to charge. It turns itself back on and says unable to charge :confused: I think it's time we pay a visit to Cingular this weekend. :rolleyes:
