need some ideas

hello i have a 5 year old in pre k he ws really enjoying it for the first 3 months but now he cries and says are u going to be there to pick me up i say yes i always have been and always will be!! i pick up 3-4 other kids he knows also any advice im afraid if he dont quit the crying he will have to go back to pre k next year! he knows everything he needs to thats required had a very good report card! just misses me my husband says remember when our daughter did that all through pre k and 3 months of kdg i say yeas so he says quit worrying

I have a little girl in my Girl Scout Troop who is like that at school and she is in the first grade. The teacher had her bring in a picture of her family to tape to her desk. This helps with her anxiety to know she can look at her family anytime she wants to. Can he bring something from home that calms him to keep in his cubby. He could hold it when he is upset. I have seen some of the kids at my daughters preschool do this.
My four year old cries sometimes when I drop her off at preschool. I just have to hand her off to her teacher and walk away. I know that sounds awful, but as soon as I am gone she is fine. I end up crying all the way to the car and she is fine by the time I get in my car. :)

u really made me feel better im going to try that he goes mon tues thurs fri so i will try it i know what u are saying about u yourself crying im the sameway!!!!!!!!!!!!

I talked to my daughters teacher to see if there was something I could do differently and she said just to keep doing what I was doing cause she calms down after I leave. I think the little turkey does it to make feel bad.:rolleyes: Not really, I think she misses me at first, but gets so busy with her friends she forgets about it.

Does your little boy keep crying after you leave?

the teacher says sometimes he does but he quits then later starts again and she says whats wrong? he says i miss my mom is she coming to pick me up? she says yes she always does u are really making me feel better about this thank u bunches
