o.k. I decided to try the atkins diet for awhile to see how it goes. I've looked at his website and I am confused over one thing which I feel really stupid about.

Do you count the eggs/meat etc in your 20 grams of carbs or is that seperate??? It says on the sheet to eat eggs etc liberally but then they stress eating only 20 g of carbs, so which is it?? How can you "liberally" eat eggs if you have to count the carbs on those puppies?

Thanks for your help! :D

i am not sure, but i believe that eggs and other proteins (ie meats) do not contain carbs.

Hmmm, maybe I am confused on the net carbs vs carbs then? Because on the label on the egg carton it says their is 1g of carbs per egg. I know I'll figure it out eventually.

Q: What are "Net Carbohydrates"?
The "Net Carbohydrates*" are calculated by subtracting the dietary fiber and other low glycemic carbohydrates (i.e. sugar alcohols) from the "Total Carbohydrates". Individuals monitoring their carbohydrate intake should count the "Net Carbohydrates*" towards their daily intake.

I found this off a http://www.premiernutrition.com/products/faq.html#carbs

Good luck on your new diet. Atkins is not for me because of some health issues, but I hear it's working wonders for a lot of people. Well, back to Sweatin' to the Oldies!
