Posting Etiquette 101

It seems lately some people need a little guidance in the proper etiquette for posting and replying. Our first lesson is on what to do when you enter a thread you disagree with. Here are your choices:

1. Hit that neat little back button on your browser.
This is a great option that comes with every browser and saves us the time and headache of editing what will surely be an unpleasant response.

2. Hit the red X at the top of your browser.
Similar effect as choice 1 but it will close the whole window.

3. Report the post to the moderators.
There is a handy function in every post that gives you a link to report it to us. If you feel it needs our attention then report it and we will deal with it as soon as we are able to respond. This of course does not guarantee that we will agree with your view and lock or removed it just because you tell us to.

4. Respond and respectfully ask for clarification of the post.
If you simply MUST reply do so in a respectful manner. Going into a post simply to flame and repeatedly annoy everyone will get you a one way ticket out of BBS permanently.

5. Flame away.
For those who don't really want to keep their memberships. ;)

I think we're all getting sick and tired of the vicious attacks, and I believe that lately a lot of us are just lurking (rather than posting) because of the nastiness.

Let's all be more friendly and supportive of each other...okay?

I have no problems following those guidelines. I've already used #1 and #2 quite a bit.

As a newbie, I'm anxiously waiting for the lesson on the proper way to drive the moderators insane! :)

Ooh-this post really speaks loudly. I'm bumping up waiting for the update on driving mods insane 101.um, my x is grayish, will I end the world as we know it if I hit that? I can't find the red one. ;) Sorry, I was just starting to prepare for part 2 of our lesson:D
