The 100th day of school was on the 24th. There were lots of kindergarten projects dealing with the number "100"

The teachers had made each kid a big sheet of paper titled "If I Had $100....."

And shaunnessy showed me hers. She wrote "I'd give it to the poor people" and she drew herself giving money away.

I'm so proud.

They didn't ask our kindergarteners about the $100; they asked them what they could and could not eat in 100 seconds. Casey said that she COULD eat a cookie, but she could NOT eat her cat Seamus. No coaching from Mom on that one, either.

LOL @ chernl. that's funny.

they had to bring a collection of 100 things too, to make a display. you know, buttons, toothpicks, whatever.....

I decided to clear out a ton of candy. She took 100 candies. I said have your teacher give them out after the displays come down.

I was out of candy, so we took 100 macaronis and made flowers out of them. Is this 100 day thing a kindergarten tradition?

no it has just become a big deal in elementary schools locally within the past few years. just kind of a "fun" milestone for the kids. I like it.

Our school have been doing the 100 days thing for about 6 years here. My son had to take 100 pieces of his favorite cereal to school that day and they had a "power breakfast"
