Tell me some good movies to rent, we've been watching quite a few lately, I missed 2 years of watching movies cause the little guy wouldn't let me do ANYTHING.
Anyone have any suggestions? I've watched quite a few new ones, but Iwill take any suggestions..

Man I must be cheap- I get them att he library. Our library has some of the new movies like Black Hawk Down, Ali and some more. You can also request from other libraries to- why pay when you can get it for free? And at my library you can keep them for 3 days. My daughter loves Monster Inc, and 102 Dalmations, so I just put them on reserve and off we go to the library. Those are your tax dollars- use it to your advantage!

SIGNS with Mel Gibson. Jesus what a great movie, as suspenseful as it was provocative.

PRN, did you see him early in the movie when he was on the roof? Because that was when I first saw him. My girlfriend was watching it with me and I said "What the!~ Did you see that?" and she didn't. And I said, I swear there was something on the roof and it was not human! "Uh huh," she says.

Yeah. Guess who's hiding under the covers one hour later heh. So shortly after I scream because we both saw him in the TV reflection, she won't look. "Is he there?" Yes, look, you'll see him. "What does he look like?"

He has a pink bunny suit and he's . . . what the hell do you think he looks like! tsk. Great movie. Scared the living sh*t out of me man. I'll never look at an ear of corn the same way.

He was really a very good looking alien I thought. I especially liked the wrist gas. :D
A new perfume appliance?

Man, when I saw him on the roof I said, Holy Fajitas, you don't mean for once we actually get to see him? Because it's my pet peeve with SF flicks: Where's the beef? Let's see Da Alien! LOL It delivered. That it did. I'm glad I don't have a basement heh.

I saw Signs too, and I have a basement. Guess who has to go down there and get the laundry in a few minutes. Now I have the creeps all over again:eek:

It only took me a few WEEKS to go down there after dark after I first saw it. Great movie tho!! Highly recommend it!!!

That movie creeped the living h*ll out of me. It was just an old-fashioned scary movie, sort of an Alfred Hitchcock feel to me. Suspense and dull terror and a sudden shock now and then  that nearly got the best of me. I'm not keen on suspense movies like this anyway, and I was expecting something else (obviously) when I started watching it. I think I was most scared when I was just sitting there WAITING for something to happen. I didn't like the last five minutes though. Too bad, considering how tremendous the first hour & a half or so was.

a few not mentioned:

The Others--good scary film--no gore

Legally Blonde--good comedy

Charlie's Angels--good parody of a parody (hard to do successfully--& not all critics got the joke)

Scary Movie--parody of the "dead teenager" movies (the Jason movies, Nightmare on Elm Street series, etc.) Recommended with reservations--If you dislike gross-out humor, politically incorrect humor, do not rent this. Avoid Scary Movie II (enough good material for a 20 minute sketch is scattered through an 88 minute film.

Lilo & Stitch--good Disney film

Lord of the Rings Part One--excellent film

Harry Potter

I thought Signs was great, I saw it in the theatre and I want to rent it soon. Like with the Sixth Sense, I need to see it a second time to really see how everything tied together. I thought I had seen someone on the roof, but that early in the movie I still wasn't sure what to expect, I wasn't sure if there were going to be real aliens or some other explanation for the crop circles.

Last movie we rented was the Importance of Being Earnest- I thought it was hilarious. My husband didn't find it as funny as I did, but still enjoyed it. It's a good romantic comedy with a great cast.

Just saw movienut's post- I agree, the Others was really good! Excellent spooky ghost story.
