A few weeks ago I wrote GE an email about some bulbs that I had bought. 2 bulbs had burned out in less than a week. (2 others have burned out since then). Well today I got a letter and 2 $5 coupons for the purchase of GE Lighting products.

Here is what the letter said:

Thank you for advising us of the problem you encountered with your GE product.

We regret that you are dissatisfied. The problem you encountered is not typical of the quality and performance of GE products. However, even the best of products may occassionally fail to meet our expectations. Some products may be damaged during shipping or use. When this occurs, we do all we can to correct the problem.

For your convenience, we are enclosing coupons for replacements that may be redeemed at retail stores that carry GE lighting products. As products in the marketplace are constantly being updated, these coupons will allow the possibility for you to obtain the latest product we have to offer. We trust that you will find these to be satisfactory.

Thank you for using GE products and for contacting us about your special problem. We hope that you will continue to use GE products with confidence.

Sincerely,
Alice Tomcany
Manager, Application Solutions

:) I'm happy to see that a company still cares about their products and reputation.

Hey--I remember a post about this from you. That's great that they sent you some coupons so you can try them again! They don't want to lose you as a customer! :)

Yeah that was the "Bad Bulbs" thread LOL!! I will try them again. They are the Crytal Clear kind. I'm pretty sure the ones in there before were GE but they were 40 watt bulbs and they lasted a long time. I switched to 25 watt cause the 40's just put out so much heat in a 6 bulb light fixture. I think I'll go back to using 40s though.

Wow, it's nice to hear when a company appreciates it's customers.

I had the same thing happen with florescent bulbs I got at Costco. They were the small light bulb replacement ones. Fortunately I saved the receipt and the box with it's 5 year warrenty (something I don't usually do) and sent them back to the company. I've shipped at least 6 to them so far and they have shipped me new ones back. Still think I should have gotten the shipping costs too!

MrsSpeed, does this happen to be the reveal bulbs? I'm sorry I didn't see your other post, I was just telling my friend for the last couple of months I have been spending a fortune on these, some last one week and sometimes two, I was really beginning to think that it had something to do with my electricity

No these are the CrystalClear Brilliant Decorative Lights.

I wondered about my electricity too because it sure seems that our bulbs all over the house don't last as long as they used to. But burning out after a week is ridiculous. We just bought some soft white Qualstar bulbs that are supposed to last 5 times longer. They were 99 cents for a 4 pack at Big Lots. So we will see if they really do last longer. But I have to buy the clear GE bulbs for my bathroom light fixture.

Thanks so much, at least I dont' feel alone thinking it was the electricity, mine have been doing it in the bathroom also, (the big round ones, the white one and the clear), and the reveal ones for the ceiling fans all around the house, 5 ceiling fans in all.
