Amber Alert Issued For Missing St. Joseph Girl
10-Year-Old Reported Missing This Morning

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police are searching for a missing St. Joseph girl this hour.

Sara G. Verduzco (pictured, left), 10, was reported missing Tuesday morning. She was last seen at her home around 9 p.m. Monday.

She is described as being 4 feet tall, weighing 80 pounds. Sara has a scar over her right eye. She has black hair and brown eyes.


Police issued an Amber alert for Sara this morning. Police said that there is not a history of the girl being a runaway.

Anyone with information on Sara Verduzco is asked to call the St. Joseph Police Department at (816) 271-4777.

According to what I just heard on the news. Her parents put her to bed last night at 9pm and when they went to her room this morning she was gone. :(

Thankfully she has been found!! She was found 5 miles from her home. The reports say that she left on her own. Supposedly she was going to walk to California and become a missionary.

Palazzolo-- I have a friend who is a missionary and she's not part of some sick cult! Just wants to lend a helping hand! :)

I'm sure there is alot more to it unfortunately. A 10 year old shouldn't want to leave home unless there is something going on. :(

I ran away when I was 15 because I was unhappy and thought it would be nice to go somewhere and "start over" where nobody knew me. I wasn't having problems at home but got teased alot in school. I was back home the next day cause my Mom knew where I had gone and who I left with. The girl I left with could have gotten in serious trouble for taking a minor out of the county. No charges were filed though.
