a question about baking

i wanted to make a double batch of brownies, the question the recipe calls for 1 1/2 sticks of butter can i use 2 sticks of butter and 1 stick of margarine i need 3 sticks of something and only have 2 stick of each not 3

I don't see why not. A lot of recipes say that you can use either butter or margarine so I don't see why it would hurt.
