My husband just brought home a bunch of venison and I need some ideas on how to cook it!
I have ground, steaks, chops, and roasts! Do any of you have some really good venison recipes to share? I have never made anything but fried venison before, so this is all new to me..lol! Thanks for any help you can give me :)

We make chilli out of the ground or either stews. My son loves to make Jerky out of it. My favorite thing what my SIL does with it. She takes the tough part and chops it any which way then cans it. She then takes it out of the jar, rolls it in flour and frys it. It get's all the wild taste out and makes it so tender that big chunks just fall apart.

Take flour n a paper bag with salt n pepper to taste (what you think you would use in a regular batch ) then take the pieces of meat cut in 1 1/2 inch cubes n batter them in the flour n the bag (shake shake shake ) then n a bowl of milk/egg wash then back in the bag (shake shake shake )depends on how much you want it battered then put in a pipping hot pan of oil (not on high) just like you would fry chicken do about 17 pieces for a family of 3 , you might have some left over but good cold , then dip dry pieces on a few paper towels in a bowl , after finished pour out most of the oil in a bowl set aside then make brown gravy if you want , if you want the recipe for that email me . I know a few other recipes for venision too . Just ask . Skyenowa

I love to take the steaks and cook them this way.
Flour lightly and put in pan with butter or marg. Brown well on both sides and then add a package of onion soup mix with about 2-3 cups of water. Cover and let simmer for about 30 mins turning once in a while. You might have to add a little more water while cooking just keep an eye on it. After 30 mins take a can of cream of mushroom soup and add this straight to the pan right out of the can and mix it up fairly well once it heats up it will be easier. Let this simmer for about 15 mins. Check the steaks with a fork the fork should go in fairly easy this will make sure the steaks are tender. It make a wonerful gravy too. Hope yoy enjoy.
