My desktop is so messed up! My DD downloaded porno while in an AOL kids chat room, I have been trying to delete it for almost 3 weeks, thought I had gotten rid of it, but it came back today and my computer started crashing, it makes a copy of itself whenever I delete it. Anyway, after it crashed, my desktop recovered an old back up copy and installed it, but everything is screwed up, it even installed old Gator programs it took me forever and a day to get rid of, my Roboform with all my passwords isn't working either. Everything is coming up "page cannot be found" or error. I am on aol 8.0 but I can't use search and keyword is no longer there to find tech helps #. Could someone please give me the phone # for aol tech help?

Thank you Gonzo and Robin A, I got them with the first #, unfortunately, a 1/2 hour on the phone with tech help seems to have screwed me up worse, and he made me erase all my cookies! There would be long periods of silence where he was reading a manual to try and figure out what to do next. I can't get into my credit cards, bank account, surveys, nothing! And everything looks weird, some stuff is missing and the script is different. I had a tough time remembering my password to get back into BigBig. Four years of stuff is in there, and my Robo no longer works. Wow, I have dreaded the day this would ever happen, but I knew with DD and DS using my puter that it was bound to, guess I am learning the hard way. A warning, this all started with a program called ecommerce, so you all might want to check and make sure it hasn't been downloaded to yours. Well, going to call aol again and see if I can find someone that knows what they are doing.

Are you sure you don't have a virus?? If things are replicating themselves that sounds more along the virus line.
Good luck with AOL tech reps....... you are going to need it. If you are wise you will keep calling back until you get one that is truly tech savvy.

It could be a virus, Tangerine, but I think I may have gotten rid of it, and it is now a matter of restoring things to normal, not sure. Just went thru two more aol techs with very different advice, tried all sorts of stuff, but I still am getting "page cannot be diplayed" when it comes to any type of personal info. The porno page is no longer popping up, nor can I find it with a search, it appears to be gone, but they are so sneaky! Dang, I am a student and a freebie, survey, deals addict, I am really terriefied of losng more info. Thanx for advice, I am going to try aol tech again and stress the virus thing.
