I have a fruitcake in my deep freezer that has been there going on 30 years. It was lovingly made for me by my (at the time) new mother-in-law. In hindsight, it might have been an omen. Either way, it is well preserved, wrapped in a bourbon soaked rag, hibernating happily in the bowels of my freezer. Laying right next to the roses off my wedding cake from 30 years ago too...

***Feel free to add your own***
Besides using it as a doorstop you can...
Wrap it in plastic, place in the toilet tank to conserve water when you flush
Plug the rodent holes in your house
Use a slice to shim up the leg of that wobbly table
Chock the tires of your car, truck or trailer
Shim out the doorframe you're installing in your house
Ballast for the keel of your boat
Throw at police during violent protests instead of bricks, rocks, or molotov cocktails
Build a retaining wall
Sent to the military to use as practice ordinance
Use instead of hay bales to back the targets during archery practice
Alternative to cinder blocks for dorm shelving
Ablative shielding for launch re-entry vehicles
Cheap alternative to the expensive ammunition being used in Afghanistan
Line your kiln with them instead of fire bricks
Use as ballast instead of sand for your hot air ballon (more fun to drop!)
Carve into ball shape, and use as cannon balls for your gerbilator (spud gun)
Use instead of paper reams to prop up your monitor
Use for filler in your house foundation concrete mix
Use instead of bricks to level your backyard shed
Use as ballast in your truck bed in the winter to lessen spin ou
ts
Recycle and re-ship back to whoever sent it to you as a gift... A year later!
