Ok here is the problem...my son is 5 days old and weighs about 7lb 7oz right now and is in newborn size diapers...i have used both huggies and pampers (i also have whitecloud but havent tried those yet) When he goes potty his urine leaks out of the back of his diapers ot in the leg area but out of the butt area and goes up his back....i am worried he will get a rash from this...i dont know how to stop it its like that every time he wets his diapers...i have changed his clothes 10 times in the last 2 days because of it...does anyone know what i can do to stop this? The diapers are only slightly too big but i pull them tight when i put them on and there isnt a big gap there or anything so i just dont know why it keeps doing this....
thanks for any help!

Pull 'em tighter and point his wenis toward his bellybutton.
:D
ROFLMSAO!
Seriously, you won't squish him by pulling it very tight.
I've used a lot of different diaper brands in this business, I like the White Cloud best, and some off brand one of my parents us. It's the absolute best I've used. I'll try to get the naem of it.

For my daughter (who is now 3), I found that LUVS worked the best!
The only downside to them, is that they have Barney on them! LOL!
oh well!
I found that they did a better job and were of "better quality" than the big name brands. Another good point to mention is that even after using a coupon, Huggies or Pampers were still more expensive than LUVS with OUT a coupon!
Also, different brands although listing the same sizes run different. I find that Pampers run small - even the Pull-ups - compared to other brands.
It is all trial & error though. My friends son could only wear CVS brand because ALL others irritated him!!
:) good luck!

Use up the diapers you have. At his size, brand doesn't really matter. And you can pull them very, very snug when you fasten them. Just make sure the edge isn't rubbing against his navel, until it's healed.

do u think the preemie size diapers would fit him?
Isabel was 8lbs & 4oz when born & when we brought her home she fit into preemie clothes...(babies loose weight right after being born...)

I was thinking about trying one pack pf premie diapers as NONE of his newborn clothing fits him...he swims in them LOL!! So that might be an option for the first week or so...dont think he would need them much longer than that...he has been losing a bit of weight but should take too long before he starts gaining it back he is a eater now LOL

LOL!!! Yup - you are a MOM now!! I think this must be how we get initiated into motherhood. Both of my sons had this problem in the beginning. It does stop. The comment about trial and error does apply very well in this situation. The only thing that we did was to experiment with dipaer brands and how we put on the diapers. Tightening them up so the leg openings aren't so loose helped. Just be patient and eventually it will all come together!! Once he gains a little more weight it will work better! Good luck and keep those new mom questions coming!! :D

I'D TRY THE PREMIE SIZE DIAPERS.
I USED THE PREMIE WHITE CLOUDS WITH MY SON.
~~CONGRATS~~ AND ENJOY.
FLUTE, OF COURSE YOU WANT A SON.
A SON WILL ALWAYS SHARE THE BUGS HE FOUND WITH HIS MOMMY !!!

When I had my son he did peed right out the top of his diapers I was told by his doctor, you need to adjust the wenis down or he will pee right out the front of his diaper, you might also want to try those diapers just for little boys that have the xtra leak protection where he needs it most.
My son used to pee like a hose turned on high, he sprayed his papa when he was changing him.
All diapers have different fits you will find one you love and that works for you it might even be store brand you never know..
My son is 2 and wears Huggies I love them the overnights and the best.
You might want to also try a bigger size and make sure you fold the top of the diaper down to protect the healing navel.
Being a new mom is fun and scary but a learning process you will never forget!

My daughter was very tiny when she was a baby, and we found the best fitting diapers to be the American Faire from K-Mart. The preemie diapers were too wide for her butt. You might try those if you still have a K-mart, the newborn size was perfect.

I know this will sound strange but this is what a PEDIATRICIAN told my " sister " Put the diaper on him so the tape ( or velcro ) is in the back. She was having the same problem with her son and asked the same question. It worked with her son. Also try LUVS they seem to suck up the " MOISTURE " from boys better.
