Twas the night of Thanksgiving
but I just couldn't sleep
I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep.

The leftovers becjoned---the dark meat and white,
but i fought the temptation with all of my might.

Tossing and turning with anticipation,
the thought of a snack became infatuation.

So I raced to the kitchen, flung open the door,
and gazed at the fridge, full of goodies galore.

I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes,
pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes.

I felt myself swelling so plump and so round,
till all of a sudden, i rose off the ground.

I crashed through the ceiling, floating into the sky,
With a mouthful of pudding and a handful of pie.

But, I managed to yell as I soared past the trees....
happy eating to all---- pass the Cranberries please....
Happy Thanksgiving!

THis was in My sons monthly newsletter from school thought I would share it with you....

I changed it a little to suit my problem with Thanksgiving (and my obsession)

Twas the night of Thanksgiving but I just couldn't sleep
I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep.

The sales they beckoned--- the thrill of the fight
but I fought the temptation with for most of the night.

Tossing and turning with anticipation,
the thought of a sale became infatuation.

So I raced to the ads I had placed on the floor,
and plotted and planned as I exited the door.

I picked up my best friend and to the store we rode
Then we stood in line in the bitter cold.

As we spoke with our competition for the sale
We realized compared to us, their preparation paled.

We had maps of the store, and a multi-faced attack,
I hit the front of the store, while she cased the back.

We managed to yell as they opened the doors
Happy Shopping to all---but that is not yours!
Happy Shopping!
