I have been having a dream about my mom being outside and calling to me that there were some snakes in the back yard and to get a shovel. So I go out there and she's yelling to me to hurry because one is about 6 feet long and I'm thinking yeah right a 6 foot garden snake and when I get there I see a huge Cobra with its hood up ready to strike as it strikes out I start to swing the shovel and then I wake up. I had that same dream over and over again. Any ideas?? My mom says I want sex. But I don't think snakes are always a phallic symbol. Anybody have any ideas? I went to a couple of site on dreams but they just said the Greeks would say it was a favorable dream.

I have a book called The Dreamer's Dictionary that was written by Lady Stearn Robinson and Tom Corbett and this is what it says about snakes. I used to dream about snakes a lot myself. I hate the nasty creatures.
In it's psychological interpretation a snake in your dream is a phallic symbol, and to dream of one, especially if it was coiled around you, or otherwise on your body, is a warning that you may be a slave to either your sexual passions or repressions. However, according to the oracles, snakes in a dream are warnings of various troubles, obstacles, or treachery. Of course the colors and other details must be carefully considered, but as a general rule to dream that you were bitten by one portends a period of struggle against unfortunate circumstances, and if it was a cobra, it carries a speical warning to guard against accidents in the following few weeks. To dream of being surrounded and unable to kill more than one or two indicates that you are in danger of being seriously cheated by someone you trust, but if you manage to kill(or get rid of)them all, it is a sign that you will succeed in spite of any hostile opposition.

I have been having a few problems and a friend has been having problems. I was thinking maybe it had something to do with that because I had heard that your sub concience keeps working on problems even when you are sleeping. Kind of like trying to remember an actors name and then several hours later when your doing something completely unrelated the name just pops into your head. I hate snakes so I have been having difficulty falling asleep knowing that I keep waking evey few hours with the same dream it's really creepy. I hope I kill the damn things in the dream soon then maybe I can get some rest!!!!!!!

Another thing I dream about a lot is roller coasters. I'm not sure what that means as it's not listed in the book that I have. The last couple of weeks I've been dreaming every night and I can remember most of the details of the dreams when I wake up. It's been a long time since I've been able to remember what I've dreamed about. Maybe this just happens to me but have you ever noticed that when you wake up in the morning that you can't remember what you dreamed about but when you lay down to go to sleep you start to remember the details. That happens to me a lot.
