Hey guys, I have a bachelors degree in history, and weird stuff like this just peaks my interest. I know there is a pretty good smathering of ages on this board, so I know some of you might have been alive the year after Pearl Harbor. September 11th has sometimes been compared to that attack.

With all the memorials coming up today, I was wondering what people did on Pearl Harbor's anniversary. I would really appreciate the responses, thanks in advance!

P.S. In Memoriam for those who died at on 12-7-41 and 9-11-01 http://www.socool.com/liberty/images/pharbor.gif

WO, I am glad to brought this up. With everyone hoping for a "Holiday" out of 11 Sept, someone else who works closely with the military mentioned the same thing. I don't do anything out of the ordinary on 7 December. I should, though. Today, I am wearing RED, WHITE AND BLUE in honor of the lives lost in the past year. I hope to be reminded of 4 Dec. to remember my personal RED, WHITE AND BLUE days. That is my goal. That is what I am calling these two devastating days...RED, WHITE AND BLUE DAYS!!! Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.

While I am just 33 years old I think the attack of pearl harbor was and still is as the attack of September 11 devastating and still fresh in peoples minds and will not and should not be forgotton.

My granfathers served in the war and while they are gone could not and rarely often wanted to talk about it.

My grandpa fought in WWII and won't talk about it. My husband is in the Army and we've talked about Pearl Harbor so much. (He's also working on his bachelors in history. He should be done next fall.:) ) We don't have anything we do that day though.

Ditto.

My father & his brother also went into the Navy in December 1942. Both served in the Pacific. My Dad was on the second ship that landed in Naquaski AFTER the bomb. He was a medic - and never wanted to talk about his tour of duty.

did anyone recnetly see the article in the paper about how the Japanese sub was found, proving that we launched the first attack on them?

I like to read that sort of thing, and am not trying to start a problem but rather a discussion.

Amy :)

I had an uncle who was killed at Pearl Harbor...His body was lost overboard and was never found:( Sadly, I never got to meet him....He was only 22 years old when he died....I do recognize that day just as I will 9/11:(
