Flute, there's still hiring like crazy at Ameren, INCLUDING machinists, SEVERAL. IF Mike can get his resume in there, and IF he doesn't hear anything in a week or two, Chuck MIGHT be able to pull his only string and get a supervisor friend to call downtown and ask them to look at the application personally. But he has to get his resume in first. www.ameren.com You can find a phone # there to call and talk to someone about WHERE exactly to send the resume, etc.

Wages are $28-$30 an hour for machinists. Even if he would hire in as a porter or laborer at $12 or $15 an hour, in 6 months he can 'bid' on any other openings. IN 2 years max he'd be up to the top wages.

AND I am pretty sure they are hiring right there at Rush Island too, by Bloomsdale MO.

Just telling you, if he wants a good job with above average pay, the heck with uncle. You guys have to look out for yourselves. A friend of Sarah's husband just got hired there a week ago, at $23.00 an hour...but you gotta do what you gotta do. Chuck can get that resume pulled.
