I have just quit being a career mom to being an at-home mom. this is really going to hit our budget hard, does anyone have any ideas for keeping an 18 month old occupied all day long and freebies for the household? Also, I have a 5 yr old that just started Kindergarten, has anyone else had their kids come home from school with major attitude problems? She does great at school, then she comes home and acts like a monster.
Just wanted to welcome you to BBS {{{{mother-of2}}}} ~there are some nice ppl here~Best of luck to you and your family! I am not the best at giving advice but there is someone here with a whole bunch for ya ...:) I just know it :)

I have FOUR kids, ages 4, 2 1/2, 16 months, and 6 months.
They watch some educational programs in the morning, then in the afternoon they are banned from the t.v. I give them books, and for my oldest two, activity books I buy at Walmart. The 2 little ones entertain themselves on their own.
My son just started preschool, and he DOES have an attitude..more like I go to school now and I know everything so poo poo on you.

The five year old may be acting out because she is stressed. Going to school is hard work. ((((hugs)))) and from another SAHM it is all worth it!

I just wanted to send {{{HUGS}}} to you. I know for me being a SAHM is hard work but its so worth it. When my son started school he would act up when he got home. I think it did have alot to do with the stress of adjusting to a new routine. As he got used to it he did get better though. :)

Your 5 yr old is displaying classic symtems. Most kids go through an attitude change when they start school. I think they get to school and compare notes on how to drve Moms crazy LOL.
Good luck and welcome to the forums.
