My son is starting back at college next week and Ive seen some posts about buying text books online. Can anyone give me some websites they have used to do this? Is the shipping high? Any help would be appreciated;)

Hi,
Im starting college next month, and I went to www.efolett.com
They can ship the books to your campus bookstore or to your house. Hope this helps, Jennifer

When I was looking I found that Walmart.com was quite a bit cheaper than my school bookstore.

My son uses half.com (division of ebay, I think). Be sure that you have the correction edition...as they can change yearly.

www.walmart.com

My dot is a first year med student and needed 14 textbooks THIS semester. She shopped every online bookstore, and walmart.com by FAR beat everyone's prices, from $4 up to $25 per book. They only were out of stock on one book. Check into the prices of shipping and handling. Since he's already started back to classes, he's going to need these books quickly. With S&H added, it might be cheaper to just bite the bullet and buy them at the campus book store this semester. Sarah did save over $250 on her books using walmart.com. Make sure you have the correct ibsn# & edition.

yep his username is joshwakefield, has an excellent trading rep
amazon is set up alot like ebay, you can read there feeedback, and sometimes find traders near you, so the shipping is cheap.

And the book is in such good condition, I will be able to sell it back to the university for 60% of the new price when I get done with the course, I actually made money.

I'm not sure how their prices compare on new books, but I got a good deal a couple years ago on some used books at www.bigwords.com They were books I hadn't been able to find elsewhere.
