School dress codes

I know people have posted about this before but some of these rules just don't make sense. My daughter got her school handbook today and in it were listed items that were not permitted to be worn. On the list were: sunglasses, chains, bandanas, dog collars, hats, handkerchiefs(?) and outer apparell(sp). Most of these I can understand but why no handkerchiefs? How are handkerchiefs offensive or distracting?

That's bandanas. Handkerchiefs were listed seperately.

they went to hankerchiefs because some many schools banned bandanas, same thing
