The fish is dead. Alpha. Sarah's betta. I JUST cleaned the tank this morning, like I have for the last 8 months when it gets icky. AND YES, I used the dechlorinator. Didn't do ONE thing differently than I have been since December. And it's head down, tail up in the rocks.

CHIT CHIT CHIT CHIT.

Think I can run out and replace it before she gets home from classes at 6?

ARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

But I don't recommend bettas from Walmart. (Never have seen one at walmart for $1.27...they are $2.94 here) The poor bettas in our walmarts always look so pitiful.

I thought it was a Beta - maybe it was a "SALE"-fish !

LOL

I have had this one for 1 1/2 years - didn't really expect it to last the week when we bought it !

Survived by one cousin, Itzah Betta of Columbia, and friends.

INTRODUCING...

Hezah Betta
8/23/02-
May he live a long and healthy life. Or at least until Sarah moves into her own place and is responsible for him! ;)

I went to PetSmart...their bettas looked AWFUL...the ones that were still alive that is.

I went to Petco. NO bettas. They got their shipment in yesterday and every one of them died.

So...I walked down to WalMart. They usually have nasty-looking bettas. They had at least 50 of the most beautiful fish I've ever seen. It took me 30 minutes to pick one out! They even had females, which I've never seen before. $3.47, but he's really healthy looking, perfect fins...and he's still alive after 30 minutes in the tank!! :D

sounds like you were in a bit of a pickle...better than the fish escaping...one of the supervisers where i used to work had a beta and put it in a coffee cup to clean the bowl..it jumped out of the cup and into the garbage disposal...

ROFL!

Did the supervisor 'fish' it out of the disposal? ;)

It's STILL alive. 4 hours after I brought it home! Woohoo. Might live long enough for Sarah to see it when she comes home tomorrow (is at daboyfriend's tonight)
