Ok, right before we moved back to Oklahoma, we got rid of all but 1 dog. We had to give 2 away because they were actually climbing the fence and i was afraid they were going to get run over, so we searched till we found them both good homes in the country. Then when we got here I bought a bassett hound puppy for a smaller house dog. WELL..... before i can even pick up my 6 week old puppy, he goes to the store and picks up a stray and brings it home because they were kicking it around (don't get me wrong, I don't want the dog kicked around), then there is a lil momma dog and her 3 puppies running around the neighborhood that the animal control can't catch, so he manages to catch them and bring them home so we have a dalmation, a basset, the stray he brought home who was dubbed D.D. (for Damn Dog), then momma dog and 3 puppies, THEN.... he drags home a momma cat and 2 kittens that someone had dumped at my parents house and my aunt who lives next door had threatened to shoot(don't even get me started on that witch). so we're up to 7 dogs and 3 cats. I finally find a shelter that will take them till they find a home and won't put them to sleep, so i take the cat and 2 kittens and 3 puppies. he insisted on keeping the momma dog. so back to 4 dogs. NOW..... he found out the pound has a full blood boxer that they are giving him for free. I know he's always wanted a boxer and it is a beautiful, but this dog is the size of a horse, I told him he was gonna have to give up eating to feed it, lmao. I know he has a soft heart when it comes to dogs, but grrrrrr. good grief i'm gonna hurt him if he brings on more home.

ANYONE WANT A DALMATION???, LMAO, WE'RE TRYING TO GIVE HER AWAY NOW. SHE'S JEALOUS OF THE LIL DOGS.

Awwwwwwww...your hubby is such a softie. :) I am not that much of an animal person (we are down to one crazy mutt) but I used to be very bad about dragging strays home from the dumpster because it just broke my heart to see them there and hungry. I finally had to give it up because the ones I usually brought home always seemed to be in the motherly way.:( At one time we had about 7 cats and one dog ended up having 9 pups. We almost never got rid of them all.

I should say 3 dogs and 3 cats though...our tenant/neighbor has 2 dogs and 3 cats and hardly ever stays home so I am usually over there feeding them because I hate to see them go hungry and without water in this 95 degree weather.:(

That's a lot of animals! I love animals, but we just don't have the room. My hubby is like that too, though. Today he went to the Animal FOundation, where we got our cat from 4 months ago, and there was another cat that we had looked at & he was gorgeous, a really light orange tabby, but so light he looks blonde, but we didn't bring him home because we only wanted one for now & he was a bit unhappy about our son, and today that blonde cat was still there & hubby wanted to bring him home so bad. I'm glad he didn't have the carrier, or I know he would have brought it home.

don't you have a pet rescue center in your area? Not the dog pound but people who will get homes for these babies. Also tell your vet or lots of vets around town what you have and they will put their pictures up on bulletin boards for people to see and maybe adopt. Put free in big letters. Good luck. You got a sweetie hubby there.

yeah we have a shelter that I know has kept one dog for over a year so thats where we took these puppies and kittens so i knew they wouldn't be put to sleep
I couldn't live with myself then. I like animals, My parents always had 4 or 5 dogs and 3 or 4 cats, and ducks and a cow or two , horse or two. pet squirrells, and all kinds of weird animals, lol. but our yard just isn't big enough, and it takes forever to convince him to get rid of one.
