Does anyone have any good stories to tell about meeting a famous actor, rock star, politician or whoever? The best I can do is say that I met Randy Johnson when he was a pitcher for the Mariners. Anybody else out there ever have a brush with fame?

schwarzenegar (sp?), my hubby met him not me, it was before his taping of true lies studdying the harrier for the scene he was going to do, Ive got a great picture of him and Arnold with their arms arround each other grinning like they both have their horns out! lol

Dusty Rhodes ( old wwf, now wwe wrestler ) once again my hubby met him. pretty cool guy, even had a drink with him at one of the local bars after his match :).

I cant recall his name, but that guy that played the cop ( gray haired guy from Jingle Bells with arnold schwarzenegar ) my hubby met him too, he did some dinner for the marine corps here back in 98. of course, it being military function i didnt want to go.

my hubby has met a lot of people from the wrestling world, but not sure of a lot of the names. but he is always the one meeting these people never me :( hmph!

At the Resort I used to work at we had people in off and on all the time. Some I wish I hadn't met because they were not so great. I met John Trevolta, Pierce Brosman, Tom Smothers, Dana Carvey and a couple of others. Management had its perks-But on the other hand when they were not so great you were the ones who had to deal with them.

Met Jim Wright having lunch at the Olive Garden, met the woman that plays Pheobe on AMC, and called John Denver a fool once. I think there are a couple of others, but it has been soooo long now...a lifetime ago, that I can't remember.

A couple of years ago my DH and I met Ed Begley Jr. He was traveling and stopped to eat at DH's parents resteraunt (this is in the middle of nowhere in Nebraska, so you don't see many stars here!!) He was traveling cross country in his electric car thingie and just passed through our town. Pretty neat!

Other than that I met a couple of members of the Atlanta Braves when I was in High School. I went to school with a boy who's dad was a former player and so for career day he brought in some baseball players! =)

My mom and I were in NYC in the fall of 1989 and we were eating lunch at McDonalds. Well guess who comes and sits next to us? OJ, Nicole and I think one of their children!! People were coming up to him and talking about football and mom & I really had no idea who he was. We talked to him & Nicole though for a few minutes. When we got home my Dad was watching football and mom said that's the guy that was sitting next to us and we spoke with. He about died because we were to dumb to get his autograph!

Other than OJ, I have met different baseball players--Cal Ripken, Jr., Brady Anderson, almost all the Orioles from when I was a kid, Alex Gonzales, Brian Daubach.

Tina Louise (Ginger-Gilligans Island) called me collect about 6 years ago. I was heading a committee for a Celebrity Auction for my son's high school. She received out letter requesting something and was telling us the only way she would send something is if we sent her a large manilla postage paid envelope! (Cheap *****) We did and she sent a 8 by 10 photo of herself in a white towel all wet.

Well I used to work as an assistant engineer in a recording studio and met a few people there like:
The guys from Skid Row and Zakk Wylde (guitarist for Ozzy) they all lived in the same town as I did
Nelson twins (anyone remember them?)
Alice Cooper did his Hey Stoopid cd there
Doro Pesch (big over in Europe about 10 years ago)
Jack Ponti who wrote and produced numerous songs and rock people.

Some Christian artists also but don't know how many people would know them if I mentioned them.

I met Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit 7 years ago. He was working at a local tattoo parlor and did my tattoo. He told me that they had just signed their first record deal and he showed his tattoos on his neck and legs. And 20 years ago when I was picking up my now ex husband at Kennedy airport in New York, I saw Muhammad Ali get off the plane. He had around 30 people surrounding him so you couldn't get near him. My ex told me that everyone new that he was on the plane. He looked smaller in person than he did on television.

I met Dom Delouise (you know the big guy in the movies with Burt Reynolds) at the food court in the mall in Durham NC. He was literally shoveling food down his throat but he was rather nice, we got his autograph. Met Aaron Tippen back stage at a concert, got a pic with him. He is fine.

Just 2 weeks ago I met Davey Jones from the Monkees!!! He was leaving the Hyatt Hotel in downtown Buffalo. He was getting into a Ford Taurus and was about as tall as the car. He was very personable and even gave us a couple of tips on some horses running at the race track.(He's a jockey and owns horses) I was so thrilled!!! Now, I have to meet David Cassidy and Bobby Sherman, my other teen idols.

Well my dad grew up and had a band with Kenny Rogers and he's still a friend of my dad's so I know him.

I've met a lot of celebs through Kenny and also just from working at a concert venue for over 3 years and I have to say my favorite was Lenny Kravitz. Not only is that man beutiful outside but inside too. He sang to me during sound check and then danced with me at the concert since I had gotten second row seats on the aisle. WHEW! That was awesome!

I met Joey Ramone at the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame in 96' .. asked him to sign my ticket stub and he invited my sister and I to his show that night but we didn't go. I was pregnant and kind of exhausted .. now I can kick myself.

My hubby has met Phil Anselmo from Pantera several times ..he met the whole band. And he has met the lead singer from Cannibal Corpse and Billy Milano from Storm Troopers of Death (S.O.D). He also met Lyle Lovett at Easy Riders in Arizona.

Anyone remember Billy Huffsey from Days of Our Lives and Fame, the TV series? I know his parents and have waited on him countless times .. I will keep my opinion of him to myself  .. lol .. his parents are sweethearts though!

I have personally met Chuck Conners from the old series The Rifleman, Tracy Lawrence (the country singer)(my best friend's sister used to hang out with him), and Kerry and Chris Von Eric (wrestlers from way back). My Mom has met Jerry Lee Lewis. My best friend's sister also went to school with Vanilla Ice, she didn't have anything nice to say about him

I guess the best famous person story that I have is when my Aunt and my Grandmother went to an Elvis Presley concert one night. As they were leaving, they had to cross the street to get to their car, and a car almost hits my Aunt. The driver slams on his brakes and steps out to see if my Aunt is okay, and she is yelling at him for almost hitting her (she says he came out of nowhere). Then out steps Elvis Presley out of the back of the car to offer his apologies to my very upset Aunt. She stopped yelling and almost passed out! :D He gave her a scarf from around his neck and a hug and kiss. My Aunt gets the happiest smile on her face when she retells that experience to people! :)

I used to work in a health club and met: Geraldo Rivera (it was the time that he got hit in the face with a chair) so he had a big bandaid on his nose! He wasn't that friendly either. Matt Dillon came in a couple of times - very nice. Simon LeBon from Duran Duran with his wife - they were sooooo nice. I met him once before and he wasn't too friendly, but I guess he didn't like to see fans bother him for autographs. And Sarah Purcell - I don't know if you remember her - she used to host a lot of shows in the 80's. I think Real People was the name of one. I think that sums it up.;)

I met Jay Leno a couple months (?) ago. He's nice, but he's uh... a little too friendly. (ie, flirty)

We saw Kenny Rodgers in Caesar's Palace (Vegas) once. He was really nice!

When I was little, I thought I saw Rickie from Silver Spoons in Kmart :D I think I might have been mistaken. lol ;)

I've met some professional wrestlers. When I was younger I met Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat, Jay Youngblood and Blackjack Mulligan . It was funny they were supposed to be arch enemies but they were outside of the place smoking together. They were all very nice to me. I have met the ex pro wrestler Boogie Woogie Man Jimmy Valiant--he lives about 10 miles from my house and has his wrestling training camp there. I also met "STING"...when I was 17. He wanted me and my cousin to come back to his hotel room and party but we were with my mom and she was an old fuddy dud and wouldn't let us go.. :( I also met Carl Evans (ex Alan Michael Spaulding Guiding Light) at the local mall.

During my "clubbing days" I met a lot of counrty singers at this cool bar called the Wild Dawg Saloon. Most of them were so down to earth. A few went to out to eat with us after the bar closed. Joe Nichols, David Kersh even picked up the tab. I got to dance on stage with Confederate Railroad. I met Lonestar, Little Texas, Big House, Mark Wills, Daryl Singletary, Gary Morris and my all time favorite, Ricky Lynn Gregg. Ricky Lynn always remembers your name and stays after every concert to met his fans. He is number one in my book.

I met Loretta Lynn a few years ago. Very nice Kentucky gal.
I had 2 cousins that went to school with Harvey Lee Yeary aka Lee Majors. He played football for my old high school. He contributed what had to be a large amount of money to get the football field fixed up real nice. They renamed the field Lee Majors Field. He has got to be a very nice person.

Just a few weeks ago we went to the ROCK NEVER STOPS concert in Cleveland. Anyway Skid Row was signing autographs after they played. So we stood right next to Scotti Hill like the whole time they were out there. I got signed by the 3 original members(they signed my uh   ) They are really cool. So we are standing there after they walked away (like an hour) and I keep staring at this guy thinking "I know him from somewhere". So this guy is talking with a small group of peeps and we found out it was Every Mothers Nightmare!!!! They are awesome! So they were playing at a club after the concert which was also supposed to be the Skid Row after Party. So we went and seen them play and I have pics of us with the band and we were just standing around talking to them. Afterwards I was like "NO F#CKING WAY, WE JUST MET 2 AWESOME BANDS"

hi i have met tons of singers...we live near a middle sized town so everytime there is a concert i stalk...LOL...however it seems to me that all the hard rock heavy metal singers are a lot more friendly than the 'country singers' i met the group enuff z'nuff and pantera and skid row but when clay walker and kenny chesney came to town i only got to meet kenny's crew seems he was 'engaged' in other actions for the time being and they wouldnt get him so that me and my little boy could meet him but they were really nice and gave us guitar picks and lollipops to my son so it was just as good for us even though he is my favorite singer...

Let's start from the beginning...when I was about 6 or 7 I lived in Memphis and Jerry Lawler was at the Mid-South Fair, so I met him. When I was 11, Tom Wopat was at the Cook Convention Center in Memphis, and my aunt and uncle took us to meet him. It was soo funny, I kissed him once and my aunt forgot to take the picture, so I had to kiss him agian. There was a desk between him and the guests. When my sister got up she put her arms around his neck and nearly knocked him down when she kissed him. lOL

I met Trisha Yearwood in '95 or '96. Very down to earth.
I met Shawn Christian (former Mike on ATWT) in the '90s.
I met Deuce McAlister who plays for the New Orleans Saints in 2001. Course he was at OLE MISS then. (that's were I work)

1968-ish...Willie Mayes ("The SAY HEY Kid", S.F. Giants)
...On a golf course near my house. Dad told me that Willie thought I was a very cute little girl. I don't really remember...I was around 4 years old.
1977...Gavin McCloud (Murry Slaughter on "Mary Tyler Moore Show"/Captain Stubing on "The Love Boat")...I saw him in "Annie Get Your Gun"...Got him to autograph the play program. He told me to "Be sure to watch "Love Boat" every week"...(It had just started on ABC).
1978...Richard Dawson (Newkirk on "Hogan's Heroes"
/original host of "Family Feud")
...Summer vacation trip to Hollywood...Got free tickets to be in the audience for three tapings of "Family Feud"...Got autographed picture of him.

1979...Robby Benson (1970s teen heart-throb/voice of The Beast in Disney's "The Beauty and the Beast")
...I was an "extra" in Die Laughing---probably the worst, most forgetable Robby Benson movie ever made! Regardless of that, it was two days of A LOT of fun, and a once-in-a-lifetime experience...Got his autograph. While filming, I also
met...
Elsa Lanchester (the original "Bride of Frankenstein")

AND
Bud Cort (Harold in the 1971 cult classic movie, "Harold and Maude")...For the scene I was in, I got to "slam dance" with him. (In the actual movie, if you don't blink, you might see me for about a half a second! LOL)
1982...Phil Lesh (Grateful Dead)
...The father of a friend of mine knew The Dead, and took us to an "after-concert" party the band was throwing at a hotel in Berkeley...I was 18, Lesh was (I assume) drunk, and he tried, UNsuccessfully, to pick-up on me. Even though nothing happened, for months after that, my brother boasted to all his friends that "Phil Lesh tried to pick-up on his little sister!" (he was SO proud! LOL).
1986...O.J. Simpson
...An alumne of City College of San Francisco, he came to speak at the School's 50th Anniversary festivities...I had to wait for him to show up on campus, and escort him to where he needed to go. I remember thinking at the time that I wouldn't bother him for an autograph, so I just shook his (not-yet-infamous) hand. (Kinda creepy to think about NOW.)...I thought he was very nice, and quite good-looking, but a lot shorter than I thought he'd be.

In 1983 when I was a senior in high school there was a movie being filmed in my hometown called "Grandview USA". I met Patrick Swayze and his wife Lisa. They came in the grocery store one evening when I was working and I talked to them for about 15 minutes and got his autograph and they were very nice. Also Jamie Lee Curtis was in this movie and she got kicked out of K-Mart for trying on bras in the isle. Then when I was living in Navarre, Florida my son and I met Mick Foley(from wrestling). My son went to school with his son and they owned a gym there in town. He also bought my son a drink at the skating rink when they had a class trip there and got his autograph. He thought that was the greatest thing.

In junior high, my drill team was in the movie Kansas, so I got to meet both Matt Dillon and Andrew McCarthy.

I used to work at Hooters and a lot of famous people came in there:
I met Bad Company-got tickets and backstage passes
Diamond Rio-tickets and backstage passes again (this i only got so i could take my friend who loves this band, I hate country).
Brett Michaels-he was just hanging out in KC for the football game

Also while there I met a bunch of sports players:
Kevin Appier-he was then, pitcher for the Royals
George Brett-former Royals player
Joe Montana-then he was quarterback for Chiefs
Dale Carter-former Chiefs player

My hubby used to fix hot tubs and he was always over at Daryl Thomas' house (former chiefs player).

I have met Blas Elias from Slaughter, he was hanging out behind me at a Dokken show...he invited us to come by and see him the next night at his show, so I saw him again and hung out backstage with him and the band.

Cal Ripken, Jr.-he signed a baseball for me.

Those are all I can remember right now, but that seems to be enough..lol...

Yuppers!!

My husband won back stage tickets to Randy Travis years ago (when he was really becoming famous). I have pictures of me and Randy (6 of them!). He was really a nice guy but his manager (now his wife, liz) was a real b!tch! He had crackers and cavier and offered me one. I HATE cavier but didn't want to seem in-polite. I gagged that thing down.

We got to see his concert front row. It was a really good night, he's a sweetie!

When hubby and I went to NYC to appear on the Jane Whitney Show (Any one remember her?? In 1994) we ran into Bruce Willis. I couldn't even talk, just stood there with my mouth open. He's a cutie!;)
