I know that it is late in the season to try to start a garden, but is there anything I could plant that would still have time to grow and produce?

I started a garden earlier in the year and the cows got to it and ate everything, SOOOOO I restarted one about 3 weeks ago and I've got cucumber vines and corn has sprouted, but I don't know if it will do anything worth spending time on.

depending on where you live--what zone you are in, and how hot it is... You'll probably be able to grow something. I'm playing onion (green) this week.

uh you could try radishes or carrots, depending on the variety they can crop anywtime between 30 & 90 days from planting.

other than that i dont know much. not good at flower beds & growing veggies. the other kind of *gardening* as discussed in chat......is another story  ;)

my final advice: NO GARDEN GNOMES. they aint nuttin but trouble!

You should be able to plant Peas, We have a very short growing season, but I usually plant peas in the spring and then plant them again after we pick them all!

My zucchini plants(which the cows didnt eat) finally have zucchini on them :D and in the last few days the lettuce has sprouted back thru the ground and there are tiny tiny cucumbers on the vines. It's been really really hot here but rained 3 times the past few weeks... I say if you want to try the garden this late go for it.. you never know what will happen :)
