1.What is half way between Edwardsville IL and Leesburg GA?

2.Where would a good place to stay be between IL and GA?

My daughter and I are taking two days to get to my sisters. Mapquest says it takes about 13 hours to get there. I am thinking that Chattanooga is a little more than half way. What do you all think? I would like a nice hotel or motel that is less than $40 a night and in a place that has a shopping center or some kind of touristy kind of things.

Oh yeah according to Mapquest I will be on I-24 E in Tennesse. And are any of my fellow BBS'rs on my route?

TIA
Misty

well I'm not "exactly" on ur route......I just wanted to pop in to say the IL's are going to Georgia this coming weekend. Good luck! :) 13 hours........sounds....long??? Mike made it to north florida in only 12....soo...I dunno about 13 hours? Map quest isn't too reliable I've found

But, hey, maybe it's me :)

Flute what part of GA are they going to? Yeah I know what you mean about mapquest! I figured it probably will only take about 10 or 11 hours.

Thanks for the offer. But the more I look at my trip route I think I will be stopping before we get to Chattanooga. I just hope I can at least drive 5 or 6 hours the first day. I hate driving on long trips by myself!! uggg

The family and I just got back from a nice stay in Columbus Ga, passing through Tennessee and Kentucky. It was a 14 hour drive, and I drove 75% of it. I did all the web searches looking for attraction discounts and hotel rates and thought I found the best deals. HA!!!! Was I shocked to find the awesome coupons and specials that exist at the state's welcoming centers (rest areas). Some of the onbes we stopped at even had computer access to book our hotel rooms instantly! I ended up cancelling every hotel room we had previously reserved online for the trip back home and used the discounts I found at the rest stops. We even found B1G1F coupons to major attractions. Feel free to e-mail me if you'd like.
