View Full Version : Fire fighters, moms of, wifes of I need your help

I am looking for some help.

There is a little boy from the www.makeachildsmile.org named Bradlee who was featured November 1999. This little one is such a brave little boy. He has some illness that the docotors can not even name. He loves everything about fire fighting.

Well he needs some help. A few years back his mom got lots of different patches from various fire fighters and made him his specail quilt using these patches. He took that quilt with him every where, and used it to make him feel safe. Well guess what this little angel did. After 9/11 he sent his "safe" quitl to the fire fighters in New York so they would feel safe. Isn't that just the sweetest thing you have heard?

Well Bradlee is wanting his mom to make him another one, and that is why I am writing this. Can you donate a patch for his quilt?

Thanks so much for the help. It will truely make Bradlee smile to have a quilt again, and he knows that all the patches come filled with love.

My dh knows a couple of firefighters and he's going to see if they will give him some patches.

I have access to patches all around here, since Kevin is the assistant chief here and friends with all the other stations.

I'm getting them together.

Hey Katt..if you go to the site listed and look around you can find his address so you can send them to his mom direct. I went to the site and looked at "bradlee" under search and hit a few things and came up with the addy... if you can't find it email me and I will find it for you and email.it to you. I was looking at it because I was wondering if this is the same child from my hometown, and sure enough it is, they do a story on him and his family every once in a while in our local paper. to make sure you have the right kiddo he will be from Urbana or Champaign, Illinois (can't remember which) and it is a PO Box

Okay, I found one for our station, one from the station in the next town, and one from my husbands friend in vancouver, canada. I think I have a bella vista Ar one floating around too. Once I get em together, I'll get the addy.

Plus..I'm pushing this back up cause I know there are some more firewives and volunteer firefighters on the boards. Come on guys, throw out the patch rules for this once and send one in.

I am not a firemans wife or anything.....sorry.:( My man can't even light a pilot light on a stove......let alone save anyones homes or life in the event of a fire.

Okay ya'll. I've edited and deleted in this thread. So, if stuff gone, or isn't all there anymore, you know why.

It's about getting this little boy his patches...not my problems in the past. I shouldn't have been tacky. My bad, and I appologise. Now...lets get it back on track. :)

Bump up for Bradlee, I know some of you might be tired of seeing this and I promise that after this weekend is over I will not be bumping it any longer. Sweetcheeks, on that I am unable to help you out, the lady Alex who puts this together only allows the participants to have a po box and she will not give last names. My only suggestions are either send it to the po box (We all who do this regularlly send stuff to all the kiddos all the times, packages and stuff and have never had a problem) or perhaps write to Alex and see if she is able to help you out any with that information, this I really don't see happening. I hope this is not going to be a problem. If you want you can email me at chenbru@yahoo.com and we can talk more about this, but sorry I can't help you with that info.

I have recently been sent an email from Bradlees mom here is some of that email


Bradlee's patch count is 108, I am starting on his quilt now, as I have been busy with scout camp. When I finis it I will take a picture of Bradlee with it and send it to all of the fire Departments that sent one.
